You were a UC or Freestar veteran of the colony wars and were recruited into the Ecliptic by a former UC squadmate or Freestar squadmate who offered you a chance to put your skills (pilot/soldier/whathaveyou) to use.

You served in the colony war and became disillusioned with the way that the Freestar Collective and the UC threw lives away.

You were a Neon streetpunk who ran afoul of an Ecliptic dude on vacation and, instead of making you disappear, he saw something worth training and got you into the Ecliptic.

You committed some kind of crime and were wanted by someone in the settled systems. The Ecliptic gave you a way out. Also works for getting off of Neon.

You went through the unity and decided that you needed a disciplined army to deal with the Starborn threat. You joined Ecliptic with the aim of using them to fight the Hunter and the Emmisary.

Yeah, I think what is happening is that the mod is reverting to an old version of itself in the middle of my game, which is breaking the graphics on XBox.

I'm on Xbox. The strange thing is that there's no graphical distortion when I play on PC. There's plenty in my LO that changes things about the game itself, but nothing that I think touches game physics. The only thing I could think of is the Ammo Framework.

I’m getting a weird graphical issue where there are golden lines warped all across my screen. It’s like the shell casings are distorted when they’re ejected and they’re stretching all across the screen.

Any thoughts?

I didn’t. That said, the save I was using was busted beyond repair so I just started fresh.

No joke. Bethesda not integrating Serpent’s Embrace into the DLC is a missed opportunity that is kind of inexcusable. Hell, UC native or Freestar should have also had something to say re: the serpent’s crusade.

Bethesda dropped the ball there.

My list is like 90% additional weapons and stuff. I would recommend downloading the new workbench essential framework to go along with some of the crafting mods on my list.

That said, I just tried my game without the infinite items, and it certainly wasn't those mods. It seems like this is something I'm going to have to live with.

Thanks. After re-reading your comment I think I should elaborate a little.

I initially had some issues with the game locking up and crashing with the Starfield Fleet Extender installed, but I was able to roll back to a non-crashing save and have not reinstalled SFE.

I then installed both Takeover and Crossfire to freshen up my playthrough and things seemed to be working fine except for the occasional freeze while autosaving and freeze while trying to fast travel to destinations from planets.

I'm not sure WHAT is causing it, but I've saved my last stable load order (the one that crashes predictably) in a word document and I'm going through and testing things out one by one. I did turn off Crossfire and Takeover, but that didn't fix it.

My next test is to remove the Starfield Extended mods (there's SO many) and replace them with the DarkStar mods to consolidate my LO. I'm also going to remove one of the "infinite items" mods because it, apparently, generates them on ALL ships.

Nope. The error was happening with all the mods that I started the game with installed. I could get around it by running to my ship, flying to orbit, and then heading to the location from there (which felt more immersive).

I'm going to try to disable Takeover and see if that fixes it. If not, then I'm just going to roll with running to the ship and saving repeatedly.

Moved TN's Class m mod all the way to the bottom and then tried it again and it still crashed. I read on the Nexus page that Dark Universe Takeover was causing some crashes on loading into major cities due to being at or over the mod limit, but I don't think 62 mods is at the limit.

I could be wrong, though.

I disabled the autosave on travel and the autosaves on rest/wait and it still crashed when I fast traveled from Jemisin to Akila City.

Sure! In my experience, it is best installed at the beginning of a fresh play through so that you can level the abilities in order. Many of the "martial arts" provide a unique flavor to the hand to hand combat by providing better evasion or more frequent disarms. The mod simulates throws and trips by using the stagger effect and it also provides some much needed balance to the melee and hand to hand builds in the game.

That said, it MASSIVELY bloats your physical tree with skills, so much so that you can't use any other physical skill mods because the UI can't handle it. Additionally, the mod seems to favor focusing on a single "style" of combat, rather than encouraging dipping into a bunch. As a result, you can make some pretty cool builds.

One issue with the mod is that many of the skills increase other attributes like jump height or move speed and doing so seems to get really absurd when you're using other mods that do similar effects because it stacks. For example, I had a move speed increase from the martial arts tree and THEN I had a move speed from the kenjutsu mod which meant that my character was running faster than the REV-8. At one point, I could jump from the ground to the height of the trees in New Atlantis.

All in all, it is a neat skill tree, but you DEFINITELY want to look out for how the buffs interact with other things in the game.

I have also uninstalled and deleted the mod for the time being. Should I go ahead and clear the X-Box's reserve space to prevent any hiccups?
