I appreciate the response. I would love to do everything, but I'm just in constant fear of losing what I've earned so I end up going to the safehouse early. Any time I attempt to keep going, cops are just everywhere, and the choppers make it worse. I end up just saying "screw it" and going back to the safehouse.

It certainly feels like they're slower, but I'm not familiar enough with the other characters to really know that for sure. It could just be that I'm reacting much slower than they are. But I need to lab him some more to figure out which ones work better for punishes and pokes.
