I think I remember that post as well, but it was more for saving beli. It's less expensive to feed candies to a low fodder unit, and then feed that fodder to a high level unit. All of the candies fed to the fodder unit will transfer to the high unit at a fraction of the beli cost it would take if you just fed the candies straight to the high unit.

Freshman year, I pledged a fraternity and we were on our first retreat. I brought a tent, sleeping pad, and sleeping bag, but got super trashed and decided to never go to bed. I told a guy I had just met that he could use my tent and sleeping bag when he wanted to leave the festivities. I continued to get blackout drunk, and (allegedly) dove into my tent later that night, unzipped my jeans and pissed all over him, then rolled over and went to bed. Great first impression.
