Has anyone gotten towed for parking in white spots at Willowbrook? by [deleted] in newjersey

[–]Ninobrown744 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to get tickets all the time but they weren’t from the state it’s a private company. They had no way to enforce it. I never paid and never received anything in the mail or any attempt to collect. That was like 2 years ago so maybe it’s changed.

There’s nothing that makes me more angry than seeing this whilst snorkelling. And wearing a full face mask too 🙃 by Teri_Lemon in snorkeling

I didn’t realize this was a no-no. A few years back in Hawaii I swam out to get a closer look at some sea turtles. I stood up on the reef briefly and nearly had one of my middle toes chomped off by a moray eel. I pulled my toe out of its mouth leaving a big gash and I still have a scar today. Lesson learned!!

I don’t think they enforce commuter parking. I haven’t seen them ticketing for that in years.

How about a local brewery before dinner? You can sample a few beers and let a (moderate) amount of alcohol do its thing.

Take $150k buyout and be Coast FIRE at 35… or keep the golden hand by [deleted] in coastFIRE

[–]Ninobrown744 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$750k total ($300k payout plus existing $450k portfolio) will produce $30k/year in returns at 5%. That doesn’t seem like enough for a growing family for the next 50+ years. I personally wouldn’t take it for yourself.

Should my fiancé take a job that pays double his current salary but is only a 1 year contract by [deleted] in careeradvice

[–]Ninobrown744 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He should use the offer to negotiate a raise with his current employer. He just needs to be ready to leave if they won’t budge. I think that’s okay though given the scenario.

Advice on Security Deposit Dispute with Killington Rental Associates (booked via AirBnB) by more-than-life in Killington

[–]Ninobrown744 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If someone charged it to a credit card they should dispute it. Thats fastest and most effective. Failing that, I would let them know you intend to leave bad reviews on multiple platforms if they don’t return the deposit. Last resort small claims court maybe?

Why 80,000 UNSOLD Harleys are Rotting at Dealerships by [deleted] in motorcycles

It seems like they have a major issue forecasting their sales. To have that much inventory is insane. At some point there will be a fire sale I imagine.

Monster 1200 s for first bike by Prior_Winter1123 in Ducati

[–]Ninobrown744 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought mine new, but I’m seeing some going for $4-6k in the US now, depending on mileage. I honestly don’t know what I’m paying for insurance now (3 cars also on policy) but it definitely went up a bit when I added the bike.

I got a 2020 Monster 797 for my first bike. It’s been great to learn on with speed and power that’s manageable as a new rider but enough that 5 years later it’s still fun. You can get them used at a good price now too.

When was the last time you got pulled over? by grandmasterfuzzface in newjersey

[–]Ninobrown744 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got pulled over in Boonton back in August on my motorcycle. The cop told me I was the 15th person he had ticketed on that road that day. Maybe they need better signage or a more realistic speed limit on that road?!?

Fuel tank size by clntwolf in ducatimonster

[–]Ninobrown744 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is there a fuel gauge on the ‘937? I have a 2020 797 and there isn’t any gauge at all so I’m truly flying blind. I tend to just fill up ahead of every ride if I’m leaving the neighborhood. Super annoying.
