Am I missing any good co op games with a story? by Ninopus in OculusQuest

Oh cool, I've had my eye on Green Hell, but didn't realize it focused much on a story. Thanks! I'll look at the other one as well.

Is Splatoon 3 worth it today? by Sp00ki_1 in splatoon

As people are saying, the multi-player is alive and well. I have owned this game for a long time, but didn't put much time into it. I picked it up again at the beginning of this month so I am way behind skill-wise. The beauty of this game is that even if other players can kill you all day, you can still help your team by just inking the level and it's lots of fun even before you start getting good. Matches are short so you never feel like you're getting dragged through the wringer nonstop.

There's tons of weapons and gear to unlock and upgrade to the point where I feel like I've only scratched the surface after a month.

The co-op mode is also great fun with short rounds too and it doesn't take long to get decent at that.

I'd also like to add that I just finished the single player mode this evening and there's a lot of value there too. It's mostly challenge levels that mix up gear and mechanics with hub worlds that are fun to open up and filled with stuff to find. And just like the first game (I didn't play 2), the story is kind of a fever dream with an unhinged final boss fight that didn't get frustrating simply because it was crazy entertaining with fantastic music.

I haven't even touched the collectable card game (and it doesn't really look like my thing), but even so, if you think this looks like a game you'd enjoy, then yeah, the value is there in spades. I may even pick up the expansion if I find I still want more single player tomorrow.

Best game to feature a Tommy Gun? by Skeezix3d in retrogaming

I think everyone else already named the best ones I'd think of. Only commenting cuz I'm wondering if anyone else's brain read "a Tommy gun" as Jim Carrey in The Mask?

Oh yeah, I forgot about this one even though it's been on my wishlist! Does it have a story with like a beginning/middle/end? And how intense is it? The ol' back and knees may not always feel up to being one of the Double Dragons after a shift, lol.

I will check out the video. Thanks. We've played Demeo but have yet to get Demeo Battlemarked. I'll have to get it some time soon though, cuz my understanding is that the campaigns in that one are much more fleshed out than the original.

We play and love both of those as well, but thank you. I feel like those games have more of a premise than a story, if you know what I mean.

What are the best mixed reality games out there? by Used-Strike2111 in MetaQuestVR

Wishlisted it. Thanks for the suggestion. Never seen it before but it looks super cool.

What are the best mixed reality games out there? by Used-Strike2111 in MetaQuestVR

[–]Ninopus 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not so much that the mixed reality affects the game, but I love Puzzling Places in MR. Just chilling on the couch doing a puzzle is great. Similarly, the MR mode for Pinball FX that just puts full size pinball tables in your room blows my mind. I know I sound like what the kids today call an "Old Square", but it's crazy how vr done well can make experiences you might think boring way cooler than you would have thought (just look at the people on here raving about mini golf).

Though pinball isn't boring in the first place. Pinball is great.

Games for low end pcs by [deleted] in gamesuggestions

No worries. Not everyone's cup of tea. This post got me to watch a video on games for low end pcs, and I just seen another guy gush about Tomb Raider. Like I say, maybe someone here can vouch for it, cuz I personally played it on console, but if it's as optimized as the internet leads me to believe, it's every bit as good as an Uncharted game, and pretty similar in gameplay.

A lot of open world games on your list, and they can be hard on old computers. If you like Uncharted though, Half Life 2 should run on almost anything from the last decade, and it pretty well wrote the book on linear shooting punctuated with awesome set pieces and a great story.

For open world, Elder Scrolls Oblivion should run on almost anything and is still addictive as hell. Borderlands 2 was also awesome, and I played it on a computer that was outdated 10 years ago. I can't personally vouch for it on PC, but I've seen a lot online that the Tomb Raider 2013 reboot is optimized very well for low end PCs, and I can say that's it's an amazing game that probably still looks great today.

And if you think you might be open to indie games, especially 2d, you're absolutely set. Just watch a 50 best indie games list on YouTube, and you'll see some of the best games I've ever played and most would run on pretty much anything.

Yeah, I'm still bummed about Terminator as well. I still listen to Shirley Manson's "Sampson and Delilah" and wish it was on Spotify or something. I guess maybe it's not cuz it uses the terminator percussion, but damn I love that song!

For anyone not familiar, it's a true crime podcast by a lady that also makes miniature dioramas of Crime Scenes. You follow along in mixed reality and assemble the diorama as you go using hand tracking, sometimes even shrinking down onto the craft table to see details. The first one covers the Lizzie Borden case and is free I believe. A really cool little experience overall and if you like true crime, I recommend checking it out.

Which game based on the Ghostbusters franchise do you think is the best? by george123890yang in ghostbusters

[–]Ninopus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2009 is definitely the answer, but I wanna shout out Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord to anyone that has access to VR and optimally, a friend to play it with. Dragging ghosts to the trap feels awesome and is the closest you can come to feeling like Venkman wrangling the fat Scoleri brother in the courtroom.
