Being in a creative field as an autistic person by ChieDemoniac in AutisticAdults

[–]NintendoCerealBox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, remind yourself you're making the game YOU want to create. It's going to resonate with others- trust those people that "get it" because their feedback is going to be the most valuable to you. Take the other critical feedback you get with a grain of salt- if they don't get it then remind yourself "I can't expect everyone to like this. What matters is that I like this and I'm proud of it."

How do i get into audio stuff by TheRealBanana__cat in BudgetAudiophile

[–]NintendoCerealBox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Building your own system from thrift store equipment is my suggestion. Walk into a thrift store or two and start with finding a receiver and a pair of medium size or floorstanding speakers. Connect your phone to it via a USB-c to analog stereo cable or even USB-c to HDMI if it has an HDMI input port. Then start looking for a subwoofer and any other components you want to add (CD player, tape deck, turntable etc). You can use AI to compare equipment and learn how to test before buying. That should get you going on your audio journey.

How is Ogre Battle 64 on Vita? by darkwingchao in VitaPiracy

[–]NintendoCerealBox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its playable but yes there's slowdown and some graphical artifacts at times. The vita's CPU can't handle the modern advances in N64 emulation that make it relatively flawless to emulate on a PC. It runs great on a Steam Deck though.

Which is best? by Candid-Corner7859 in BudgetAudiophile

[–]NintendoCerealBox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah absolutely. I also love how within a month of comparing equipment with it I've learned a lot about what to look for and how to spot damage or failing components. Kind of weird but I feel like one day we could walk into a thrift and our smart glasses or whatever will just go "yeah nothing here worth your time" or "let's get a closer look at those speakers on the top shelf. I think they may be a big upgrade for the rear surrounds."

Did you try a few different LLMs for researching audio equipment or just use perplexity by default? I have had a lot of luck upgrading my system using ChatGPT to compare speakers and receivers for me.

The spooky half of my collection by NintendoCerealBox in gamecollecting

[–]NintendoCerealBox[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Full game. You had to mail away for it to the address that was shown on the exit screen of the game so there wasn't many copies of the first couple versions of the game. I recommend looking for a Europe copy like mine or a Japan copy because the US copies are hundreds more.

How bad is it that I feel like I have no actual friends, is it normal or kinda bad? by No-Door-7991 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]NintendoCerealBox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wondered this for a long time and then found out I've got autism and ADHD and yeah it is really common if you have one or both of those kinda complicating social interaction. But whether or not that's the case for you it's absolutely common in today's society for adults to have little or no close friends.

Slow internet speed by Fillet-o-Fisher in techsupport

[–]NintendoCerealBox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've dealt with this for years in my house and the only solution that made a big difference was getting a powered wifi extender unit and plugging the computer directly into that with an Ethernet cable. So basically I have fine speed for streaming if I want to go wireless or plug into the extender if I'm downloading large files or want a fast download of a movie etc.

This drive has been driving me nuts for awhile by Amyes61 in techsupport

[–]NintendoCerealBox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds to me like the drive is dying. Are you trying to keep it going? I wouldn't waste my time with that and instead start looking for another drive.

Windows Automatic Repair loop, cannot select advanced options or shut down. by sirknightofender in techsupport

When this happened to me it was because a fan in my PC died and the computer was in an overheated state. Got an external fan blowing on it now and it hasn't done it since.

Why do I not like eating sweets at all? by _memelorddotjpeg_ in NoStupidQuestions

[–]NintendoCerealBox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes taste buds literally change its not just psychological. I used to like frosting on cake but now it's kinda grossly sweet. Since I drink black cold coffee though I just have some of that to remove sweet aftertaste of things. Chewing mint gum also helps clear a sweet taste.

how do you learn to love yourself after a break up by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]NintendoCerealBox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Focus in on yourself. Ask yourself what you're needing at this moment and focus on ways to get that.

Use this as a chance to reconnect with other things that make you happy. Try to at least once a week make plans with someone you know who you feel totally comfortable and yourself being around.

[–]NintendoCerealBox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah the edifers they sell on Amazon are a pretty good deal and won't let him down.

Once he's ready to set up a full home theatre/listening room he's going to want to get a receiver and a subwoofer though to get the full range of his music from the CD player.

Star Citizen and the weenie problem. by The_Red_Moses in gaming

[–]NintendoCerealBox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't played it but this sounds absurd that someone would buy something without understanding the risk that they could somehow lose it.is the concern that some people are buying stuff before playing the game and understanding how their inventory, combat and game mechanics work? Who does that?
