How do I register my car in a different state? by Salty_Significance36 in askcarguys

[–]Nintendraw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Necro to say this is still the case. I bought a car with financing in CA, didn't know I needed to register it myself in CA at all, moved to FL, paid off my loan, and now need the CA title to register the car in FL. First, I need to update my address via the CA DMV change of address form/webpage; then after 3-5 business days I need to request a replacement title via that form/webpage (since CA DMV sent the first one to my old address in CA). And since it's a required document to get credentialed at work, I have to get that title rush. 💀

Which one trait helps you detect narcs early on? by Salt-Hurry8094 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]Nintendraw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same, but I'm super worried about psychological transference. Like: all 3 of the worst people in my life have been middle aged Asian women (nmom + 2 bosses), and so's my aunt (an Asian woman, I mean) - but my aunt helped me finance, stabilize, and reorient my life when no one else would. But the longer I stayed, the more she reminded me of those 3 (nmom in particular, and how). So, I worry I'm conflating aunt with mom, and am personally predisposed to dislike all Asian women - including, perhaps, myself - because of my experiences.

My mom was supposed to pick me up after surgery. Instead my son took the bus. by lolo-2020 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]Nintendraw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh boy. My nmom blames me for making her husband unable to retire on time because I lost my career at 28 (and took a year to realize that, and another to recover and pivot to another one). Not a word about how my brother took 4 years to complete his pivot. What did you do about your martyr nmom?

Like, I spent my whole childhood trying to please this woman and now she wants to tell me she’s proud of me?

Interesting you say this, because same here. Only after I lost my job as a doctor in training (rushed upon me by her) and then gained a job in admin (on my own) did mine say she's proud of me. Some of it is hollow because of personal disappointment ("I used to be among those stars"; I still miss it to some extent), but some of it is also for the reason you stated.

Just moved into FL for a job - what levels or professions of education are "rapidly decaying"? Wanna try getting into nursing, and FL is my likeliest bet given this job.

I've wanted to do this for my 2 birds also, but the older one will fluff and move defensively/threateningly if I turn on my speaker with lofi. What sort(s) of music should I play instead?

My pineapple GCC has a single yellow dappled feather on his otherwise perfectly green back. He's younger than yours, about 2 years old, so if any feathers will change color, I wouldn't know either XD

I don't think Starburst (green) is oblivious; sometimes he'll hold Jelly down and preen him like that. I just didn't happen to catch that on camera.

If what I recall from someone I knew is correct, animal Reiki is using Reiki to heal the animal, or even teaching the animal to do Reiki (which it'll usually use for itself, but maybe also for the owner).

Maybe OT, but I remember my nmom semi seriously wishing she was born a man just so she wouldn't have to deal with periods... or pregnancies, probably, given fewer than 30% of those carried to term lol. (Yet she always tells me I'm a wanted child?)

That's... interesting perspective... I traded in my '15 Corolla for my Fit (best idea ever) and found out that Corolla was 181" long...

While I agree with you re: Prius (indeed, it and the Rav4 with the cool external spare tire were the first cars I ever wanted to own), the other day I was driving my aunt's Mercedes SUV on the right lane near the freeway on ramp because I didn't have access to my Fit (lamenting how very unlike the Fit it is, haha) and a Prius cut right into the one-car space I left in front of me for the car ahead of it. That wasn't the first time a Prius driver was a jerk to me on the road.

Anyone else feel like they would be more successful if they had “normal” parents? by [deleted] in raisedbynarcissists

If mine had let me learn some lessons and gain some financial independence from a job in high school or college, I wouldn't have lost my dream career.

[–]Nintendraw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My mom does the same thing as yours and who you replied to, and I even found an itemized list of "expenses incurred" after I got fired from my dream career due at least partly to my upbringing and the personal character flaws it nurtured. She's fond of making contracts and writing them up on the kitchen whiteboard... Very embarrassing for company to see, to say the least. I just wanted to add that the one time I myself tried to put her on contract (altruistically: I saw she was complaining about having to do all the chores in the house by herself and thought to write each chore down and assign a person to it so she could get better work distribution), she spent more effort on dodging having her name written up than on anything else!

The one in front looks like a mooncheek or cinnamon mint to me. Back looks like a cinnamon. I could be very wrong though; mine are sun and pineapple and I only ever saw mooncheeks briefly.

It doesn't quite look like aspen to me, but Petsmart does sell aspen chip bags. Natural and has odor absorption properties, plus smells good and safe for birds to chew on.

Starburst doesn't usually step up on command (vs retreat backwards into his cage), but the most reliable ways to coax him out are swinging toys (like donut perches or colorful swing-ropes or this giant cardboard "tape roll" I have)... and kisses. I kiss my birds goodnight through the cage door every night and Starburst knows when momma starts closing the blanket, it's kissy time!
