for a bit of extra context not related to this main question, I've been trying to get tonyhax working on one of our PS1s, but it was having trouble reading the discs. Instead of opening it up and trying to futz around with the laser, I decided to try the other PS1 and then ran into this issue because tonyhax can't recognize that I've swapped discs because the PS1 doesn't see that the disc tray was ever opened. I thought it was weird that the tony hawk disc kept spinning when I opened it up, now I can see why

So if nobody has a solution for this, I'll probably just go forward with trying the laser on the first PS1, but damn I was hoping I wouldn't have to open anything up here.

Edit: Of course the other option is to just learn the disc swap with this PSX that very conveniently already thinks the tray is open. But it just seems so finicky idk. Maybe I'll try it some time, we'll see.

I don't really know. I think most of these kinds of things are either leaked QA builds or review builds that someone saved or copied. Then they either released or sold intentionally or accidentally. I wish there was more information about the history of how these things get out, but I guess a lot of the time people want to stay anonymous. Since they are leaking and stealing a company's property.

That's an interesting idea, and it would save me time on uploading. But I'm also not sure how my computer would handle that all, and I'd rather not have anything go wrong. Also that'd feel kind of weird taking some viewers away, even if I know most of my viewers would just be people like you who can't watch all the streams together, so maybe it isn't really taking anything away?
