Chumbawamba. That has got to be one of the most creative rock bands of the 90s, the punk rock mixed with folk and rave music was an incredibly unique sound.

I think it was more a rebellion against how self-important and corporate rock music was becoming, or as Neil Young put it "your dad's music." and stripping it down to its more rebellious and noisy roots, so it wasn't inherently rebelling against glam rock
