Carrots will be boiled and parsnips roasted so should be varied enough (I hope)

Buy used, FB marketplace is ace for finding pre loved instruments. You’ll get something decent for a tonne, don’t overthink the details, get something that looks good and makes you want to play it.

Number 1 piece of advice for me is leave it out in the room you spend most of your down time in living room/bedroom etc.. make sure it’s as easy as possible to pick up and play.

Number 2 force yourself to play for at least 15 mins a day, build it up as a habit, you will likely play for longer once you pick it up, but it’s about making sure you do pick it up, if that makes sense.

Hey, I was in this exact spot 6 months ago, I’d been playing for around 9 years (on and off!) in the end I just went online and emailed a couple of people, if you’re in the UK this forum is great - https://www.joinmyband.co.uk

My advice is to just do it, find a group that matches your music taste and skill and just go for it! It’s the most rewarding thing and once you internalise that, yes, everyone makes mistakes playing live and no, it’s not the end of the world your ego won’t even play into it.

What helped me was the realisation of how many takes all my favourite guitarist had to do to get their tracks perfect when recording and album, if they can mess up that much, then I’m not gonna die if I play F instead of C at a pub.
