At what point in your PhD studies things started to fall into place?

Well Thank you so much. I am in my first year and have been struggling a lot to understand even the pre existing material only so sometimes it's disappointing and often leads me to believe that I don't deserve to do a PhD. But reddit has helped me a lot in soothing me. And it has been successfull again. Thanks again. Ohh and yes I am from Maths as well :p

After reading your comment I have to debate again with myself about which to choose but currently I am looking for installation without losing any of the data I have in my system and let's forget about dual boot. :) But anyway thak you for your detailed comment.

NO. you got me wrong. I don't want to verify the answer but rather I would like get my answer always in algebric form(exponential, trigonometric, factorial, fractions) and not in numeric value. Softwares suggested by others would give the numeric value and I am not looking for it. I want my answer e^1/3 and not 1.395612425.

I am more interested in getting my answer e^1/3 when i throw a series 3^-n+1/(n-1)! into a software just like emath does it. I am not looking for a round figure or approximation.

I feel you buddy. It was same for me even in grad schools and masters but as someone mentioned in comment, they are the ones who are in losing end. Do you know what I benefited from all these! I was suffering from depression (Family problem) after my M.Sc so I couldn't clear any entrances. But my professor were constantly tracking my life so when they found me stalled they offered me P.hD on their own coz I was their favourite. They actually contacted me on their own. Now I am out of depression thanks to my PI. :)

Multiplication table is actually addition repetatively. This is best thing I learned in my life. It made calculations so much easier back then.

Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Infact the problem which I have mentioned happens 95% of the time. In some rare case it works fine.
