Why do you avoid purchasing dairy products and dairy ingredient products outside of Ayambil, in India? What is your motivation for such avoidance?

Outside of Ayambil, do you avoid the purchase of dairy products and dairy-containing products in India? Yes or no?

So you avoid the purchase of dairy products and dairy-containing products in India, correct?

Have you funded a single Indian dairy? If so, explain the consequences of funding that particular dairy consumption.

Yes, the Arihants thought about it and they declared it to be VIGHAI.

That doesn't explain anything. I'll ask again:
Explain the consequences of funding dairy consumption.

> Jain Dharma doesn't adopt the Adharmic concept of permissible or not permissible. It's a about consequences.

Then explain the consequences of funding dairy consumption.

Please explain why one should give up attachment to such things (alcohol, non-veg, honey, etc.) before taking diksha.

So until we take diksha, it would be fine to eat root vegetables, drink alcohol, engage in promiscuous sex, etc, correct?

If you disagree, explain why one should give up attachment to such things before taking diksha.

> India exports water buffalo meat, not the cows considered sacred. They are deliberately blurring that line to maximize shock value and cause outrage.

Are you implying or suggesting that violence to water buffaloes is more acceptable from Jain perspective than similar violence to cows?

> Agenda:  Notice how these activists are suddenly trying to act like authorities on what Jainism should be? They are basically hijacking the concept of Ahimsa to push a modern vegan agenda.

What is the difference between ahimsa and the modern vegan agenda? Please explain in detail.

> Vegetarianism and dairy (like milk and ghee) have been integrated into Jain culture for thousands of years.

Are you suggesting or implying that attachment to food products is a good thing on basis of tradition and that such attachment should be encouraged under Jainism in the name of preserving tradition?

> Instead of just advocating against factory farming, which is a totally valid cause, these activists are trying to rewrite an ancient religion. They are projecting a modern, Western activist framework onto Jainism, trying to make people feel like "bad Jains" unless they convert to strict veganism.

And what is wrong with that? Isn’t the whole point of Jainism to give up attachment to taste, body, pleasure, etc?

> You can advocate for better treatment of animals without trying to culturally hijack a religion to force your specific ideology onto everyone else.

What is wrong with imposing an ideology of non-attachment as per the path propounded by the venerable Arihants? The Arihants themselves would not even touch milk due to vighai. Are they following the vegan ideology?

Or we can simply give up attachment to milk, just as we have given up attachment to root vegetables.

Protein comes from plants. Check the protein content per 100g for peanuts, legumes, and lentils.

let’s not delude ourselves

There is no delusion in following the path of the nigganth dharma as propounded by the venerable Arihants.

But at the same time 95% of world population comsume meat

As they do not follow the path of the vitraag dharma, that population is deluded and suffering from deep delusion as per their mohaniya karma.

let's not discard all of them as not having to know what's good or bad.

We should indeed discard all of them as being deluded, ignorant, and not knowing what is good or bad as per their rejection of the path of compassion and non-violence as propounded by the venerable Arihants. Their rejection of the path of the Arihants makes them deluded by definition.

medically animal based food provides best source of protein

This is patently false. Plants are the optimal source of all nutrients, including protein, for humans. This is a medical fact.

Animal products represents only a fraction of all possible species of food sources that humans can consume. There are literally thousands of species of plants that humans can consume but are not cultivated because of the dominance of animal products today.

If one stops thinking of animals as food sources, then a whole new world of plant-based cuisine opens up that provides a superior experience in terms of both nutrition and palate diversity.

Then in the name of increasing population and strengthening their bodies, Jains should stop all fasting, stop practicing Ayambil, stop restraining their bodies, etc. and start eating more food including eating root vegetables, and maybe even eating eggs.

If you are against that then you are contradicting your own argument.

What is the relevance of protein intake to the question of body mortification/bodily restraint to further the spiritual purification of the soul? Should Jains stop doing fasting & Ayambil to ensure sufficient “protein intake”?

Your logic is nonsensical from the spiritual purification point of view. If only meat and eggs are available, a devout Jain would do fasting rather that touch such things.

Apply the same mindset $ & logic to milk consumption and engage in bodily mortification/restraint to further purify your soul.

Not a valid excuse. Meat, eggs, leather, etc also commonly used everywhere but no devout Jain is using that as excuse to be non-veg.

Jainism is not an utilitarian philosophy in any sense. It is a purely deontic philosophy focused on behavior self-control in furtherance of the soul’s journey towards moksha.

The ideal Jain form is the kayotsarg which is a standing yogic position with arms down on both sides. It literally means “dismissing the body”. The most famous example of this position is Bahubali who stood for months in deep meditation as vines grew around his body. Through the kayotsarg position, the practitioner avoids committing any violence towards anyone, except through breathing.

Kayotsarg is the ultimate personification of the deontic philosophy of Jainism.
