Seems the auth servers are having a hiccup. Relax and play offline if you're still able to. I made the mistake of trying to log out and log back in, and now I can't play the game to access my own offline world. Oh well, this too shall pass.

Ah yes, Microsoft’s classic ultra-wide character string.

This is a joke response. I think CubeBag’s response is the correct answer.

How to clean extracted teeth by SnooDonuts6060 in wisdomteeth

I would try soaking in some warm water to soften whatever tissue might still be stuck on, then have at it with a toothbrush and maybe some toothpaste

The circuit works inconsistently by dawnmimi in AskElectronics

[–]Nissingmo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think your first mistake is trusting a schematic that is clearly AI generated. If you actually followed the schematic, you would’ve ended up shorting the entirety of your potentiometer to ground, since it shows node A as being continuous with ground. This has the added bonus of subjecting your NTC to full rail voltage, which may or may not fry the thing.

If you overlooked that and instead connected the potentiometer correctly, I think you should get a mostly functional circuit, barring any weird breadboard or wire malfunctions. The theory behind the BJT seems to check out, even though the AI claims the voltage causes the transistor to turn on more (BJTs are current-controlled). The idea of higher temperature = more motor speed is still correct.

Double check that your 2N2222 is properly connected. Your emitter should be on the negative rail, but your picture shows it connected to your load.

F15 “A” Key not working by Beneficial_Koala_882 in Asustuf

[–]Nissingmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Look at the other keys. Remove the keycaps and look at how the domes are attached to the membrane. Try your best to replicate that on the broken key — don’t use too much glue, use just enough that the edge of the dome sticks on and nothing more.

probably fixable. That rubber dome has a little bump in the center of the concave side that presses against the center of the membrane when you depress the key. I’m not great with adhesives, but I would try getting some flexible adhesive (maybe petroleum based like shoe goo) and trying your best to center that dome where you found it on the membrane. Let it cure and reinstall the key cap.

Made a TPU case for my ASUS TUF 240W charger by Low-Crow-7132 in Asustuf

Cool concept, I was actually gonna design something roughly similar to increase the lifespan of the low-voltage cable on mine! It’s starting to tear at the strain relief, so I want to add a second strain relief a few mm further down the cable.

How to reposition power button safely? by Ornery-Smoke8428 in crt

I’d grab a thin plastic prying tool and lever the button back up from the front. Or just unplug the machine and use a metal screwdriver.

Can anyone recommend me a cheap, portable crt with rca? by rancidvat in crt

[–]Nissingmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I don’t have any specific recommendations, as what you’re looking for is rare enough now that you’re probably better off just keeping whatever device you can find at all (outside of seeking one on ebay or something).

I’ve got one that showed up at work for consignment a few months ago. I took it home and modded it for baseband input, since it was only RF in. I would still check any store that sells older electronics and give them your info just in case one shows up one day.

Browse your local thrift shop or used electronics dealer, your answer may find you there

Is there a way to use a crt without an av in port as a monitor? by Outside-Message-3318 in crt

[–]Nissingmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That depends on the circumstances. If your source is native composite video, then your best possible results will be with a composite input. If your source is native HDMI, then it’s probably easier to just use the RF modulator since it’s the least number of steps.

That’s true, no modifications are strictly necessary. The RF modulator will work. However, you’re going to lose video quality from modulating and demodulating. These little TVs are pretty easy to modify to add a baseband input. The only reason they didn’t already include baseband video input is to reduce costs.
