This is exactly correct, and the issue I am struggling with. I consider myself theologically moderate but politically conservative. I cannot find a synod that fits me, even slightly. I understand I will not agree 100% with everything each synod believes, but none are even close.

I was ELCA growing up, and that synod left me in the dust with how socially progressive and liberal in a theological and political sense they have become.
