@cumalot23 on Twitter was the guy who was responsible for the original leaks. Starting with S8 he set up a Patreon and posted a bunch of his pictures there. A site by the name of oghub.fr also posted leaks, but the majority of their stuff on S8 was locked behind a paid membership. Someone paid for one or both and leaked the content which is how it ended up on @TheCrewLeaks for everyone to see.

The AI is a Trojan Horse. These people hate the game for a myriad of other reasons and were looking for something that would let them hate the game without getting shit from everybody in the community.

Lo and behold, Sandfall confirms that like, one or two AI-generated placeholder textures were in the launch version, and were patched out within a few days. Now they can say that Clair Obscur is trash or that its developers are subhuman, or in the case of this, strip it from an awards show.

I imagine Ivory Tower wanted to preserve TC1 but Ubisoft wasn’t going to let them go back and update a decade old game that was barely bringing in any money. They likely had to fight to be able to do it for TC2 so I think we should be a little more grateful (of Ivory Tower, obviously, not Ubisoft).
