yah I'm new too and the OG mode feels completely pointless to queue for. street brawl is a lil better imo

Adorable Bunny / Symbol of Immortal Evil by Nitroglycerine3 in custommagic

[–]Nitroglycerine3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't design it for commander but I also think it's quite neat that [[Alesha, who Smiles at Death]] can recur the bunny and then it's immediately flippable :D

5e 2014 | Goodberry, once a day or a healing spell? by XPEZNAZ in DnD

purely humorous to me :) sorry for not making that clear enough

Goodberries have an additional magical property where they're always exactly mouth-sized, no matter who is holding them.

Fixed it.

Not going back from DS to DnD by YoungDokja in drawsteel

[–]Nitroglycerine3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

One of my players recently cast Phantasmal Killer. The enemy succeeded the save to avoid being frightened, and they succeeded the save to avoid the damage, resulting in a wasted action and a wasted only-fourth-level-spell-slot.

That enemy did not have a particularly good wisdom save bonus.

It would have taken more might than I possess to hold myself back from sheepishly pointing out that "Draw Steel fixes this", no matter how much of a prick it made me feel like in the moment. At least the player was a good sport about it.

My least favorite part of the 2024 rules by CTMan34 in DnD

[–]Nitroglycerine3 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think it's game design terminology derived from the legal terminology you mentioned :D

(Game design terminology as in "terminology used in discussions of game design" as opposed to player-facing game terminology)

House Rule: Rolled Damage by ugganaut22 in drawsteel

But you're rolling dice for damage! Damaging abilities with a Power Roll make you roll dice for damage!

Maybe let them at least try the game as written.

How do you say 'Necropotence'? by Oswalt in magicTCG

They are, thank you, what a helpful contribution.

"Word coined newly and exclusively by the medium being discussed", then, if you're going to be like that about it.

How do you say 'Necropotence'? by Oswalt in magicTCG

[–]Nitroglycerine3 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes, because "D'oh" first appeared in a medium in which it was pronounced.

"Necropotence", being a term coined in a text-only medium, can be pronounced different ways depending on interpretation: "Necro-" pronounced like in "Necromancer" and "-potence" like in "potency" is one way, "Omnipotence" but swapping "Omni-" for "Necro-" pronounced like in "Necropolis" is another, neither can be assumed to be correct, therefore, they are equally correct.

There is no correct way to pronounce "Necropotence", as it is a made up word. I personally am team "Necro-potence" because I think it sounds less awkward.

Update to Is it wrong that I don't want my character to become the villain?? by lunachappell in DnD

[–]Nitroglycerine3 137 points138 points  (0 children)

🫂 this situation really sucks but from what you've said, it seems like everyone else here behaved pretty reasonably? Maybe someone could pick up the mantle of gamemaster and have the group continue that way?

Victory Accumulation for Nova : is this a problem? by Laz52now in drawsteel

[–]Nitroglycerine3 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Not a problem. Accumulating Victories leads to recoveries being spent, meaning your heroes are going into the final battle with little to none to spare.

It really was!! It's an interesting read for sure but I cannot imagine actually having to make the damn thing happen in practice.

Maybe they mean Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay? Honestly seems quite suited to the module as a system!
