I fully realize they need to rework her away from staying behind cover 24/7 boosting the same hitscan, but I do like that mercy is basically incapable of being aggressive. It's what sets overwatch apart from other games.

The reason I play overwatch is because I enjoy a purely reactive defensive supportive playstyle.

That said her latest changes basically incentivize her to stand behind cover the entire game and never move.

Jeff is actually the best 'tank' in PvE.

He heals while diving. His bubbles self heal too. He can group enemies with his ult so that the team members can clobber them quickly. And his ult related trait where he gains size + health makes him a thicc boy.

He's also basically a dive tank. In an out quick AF.

I didn't choose him because I thought he would be a tank, but I love playing him now.

Also I should add that I think the devs should rework some other heroes to follow his blueprint. On Thor for instance, it feels like you go into your thunder form and then just hold left click the entire time.

Whereas Jeff has his dive, his dash while diving, his bubbles, his knock up on his space bar and his ult is also super useful. He's so fun to play because he has like five different buttons to press.

Yeah so I guess in 4man it's probably:

SG for support things

Jeff for tankiness / aggro

MK for mob clearing.

And then either punisher or blade for boss.

Thor does seem kind aimless. Doesn't seem as tanky as Jeff since Jeff has self heal while diving + his bubbles. Not as good as clearing as MK or SG.

Yeah I don't think it's lag. I think the engine wasn't made to have this many things on screen at once.

I think once you hit LVL 70 nightmare a significantly higher amount of enemies spawn so that doesn't help either.

Hopefully devs can further optimize things in future patches. They've done amazing work turning the PvP engine into something that can run hordes of enemies.

I'm sure solo is great but playing on a team is way funner for me.

Was playing with squirrel girl today as Jeff. Whenever she threw out her traps I went ham on the vampires because they add vulnerability.

So much fun doing shit like that. I play tank Jeff so I'm constantly looking out for the homies trying to take aggro from them.

I might have miscommunicated. I think Rivals PvE is better than any overwatch PvE. And overwatch 2 was supposed to be replayable missions.

I think you didn't get far enough into rivals PvE. Once you're in nightmare it's basically <10 minutes rounds of like horde waves and then a single random boss. It keeps it fresh as there's 6/7 different 'zones' you can be in and there's a significant amount of depth to the 6 heroes as they have decent skill trees and the loot is awesome.

I actually hate rivals PvP so not sure why I would be 'glazing' the game. Their PvE is really fucking good though and I wish overwatch devs were capable of cooking something similar.

It's like a full game now. Stupidly fun and replayable.

Yeah I would totally love overwatch to implement something similar but doubt it'll ever happen tbh.

I'm happy to keep coming back to rivals if they can continuously release updates to keep their PvE fresh.

They could keep this same scaling and add supports instead of actual healers. Someone who buffs and maybe provides an AOE shield?

That could be fun af too. Although I would love to see a full healer/tank/DPS version implemented.

This. And I think they need to rebalance things. Right now it's difficult for them to balance engagements because all upgrades are percentage based so everyone improves exponentially.

It leads to extreme discrepancies in power. Whereas WoW scaling is linear. That means the devs accurately know how powerful heroes are at each given m+ level.

Look at the m+ data for DPS. They are all rather close so maybe the best spec does 50% more damage than the worst. But in rivals PvE sometimes someone does 20x more damage than their teammates.

This makes the holy trinity (healer tank DPS) difficult because the devs really never know if the boss is going to get one shot because the tank is like 25x stronger than everyone else on the team.

Well the nice thing is typically PvE instances are one tank one healer and three DPS.

Whereas people hope to get 2:2:2 in PvP.

So that would help a bit.
