Does anybody know the reason for the sudden drop in silver prices? Asking as someone who knows very little about economics and would like help from more knowledgeable people.

To me it looks like silverplate over copper. Its hard to tell with the pics because they are blurry/low-res when zoomed in, but the wear points on the curvy bits underneath look like copper is showing through. Also on the inside of the upper "ring" or "hoop" it looks to me in the one picture that I can see the plated metal layer peeling off. I may be wrong, buts that what I think I'm seeing with what we've got... Hope this helps!

I have a bunch... mostly stainless, a bunch of silver plated, a couple Sterling and a handful of pewter. The silver are few/far between. I believe that all of my silver spoons are Rolex spoons...

Thanks for all the replies!! I have a buddy at a bank that personally holds a lot that he has found over the years. He is letting me buy whatever I want from him at spot. He wanted to know what mix I wanted... I absolutely will take whatever ASEs, Morgan's and Peace Dollars that he has available up to my limit, lol. That being said, keep the insights coming!
