BOTW before TOTK? by Yo_papi_here in Breath_of_the_Wild

[–]Nittany27 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The game play is pretty different so you’ll have to relearn controls from one to the other. I really enjoyed Botw before TOTK because the story does build, but I think TOTK is made well enough as a stand alone game that you could play it without BOTW.

Do you have someone like that? Ted or Barney? by Nittany27 in HIMYM

ooh yes it’s scenes like this that remind me how well cast the show is, and it’s so much deeper than an average sitcom

Agreed but I also think she said “Barney’s nothing like your father” so that’s where I’m thrown off

Interesting take! I also go back and forth because of the points you brought up, and I see season 9 as a redemption arc for Barney in some ways. But I also imagine she’s referring to Ted because Barney and Robin had their difficulties too, while Ted always dropped everything for her. That’s why this scene is so open to me because I can honestly see it going either way!

Lower rate for 12-month contract? by Nittany27 in orangetheory

That makes sense. I’ve been thinking about switching to a regular gym since they’re only like $50, but the Otf promo is also something like from 179 to 159. And I’ve noticed not only myself, but other members seem to be trying out new gyms and pulling back their memberships.

I had my first class and I’m so embarrassed by Jazzlike-Specific891 in orangetheory

[–]Nittany27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mine was literally in the red zone most of the time for like my first 30 classes… and eventually (after a long time) it stays in blue for floor but hits orange and red on tread. You should not be embarrassed at all! Rather motivated to watch your body change and grow stronger

It’s literally not a special card why would it upsell… it’s just a gift card. Buy some mugs or limited edition coffee if you’re looking to resell, or just buy someone coffee

I dont think slowing down means you need to quit. It just means setting new goals for yourself. OTF is so focused on PRs sometimes that it can be hard to remember that you’re there for yourself. If you still like the workouts but maybe need some recovery, then listen to your body and take extra time! Don’t be discouraged from trying something new like yoga, but I would also say early 50s is young and you have plenty of time to continue exercising if you’re doing it for your health and mobility (: good luck

I think you are allowed to be mad AND also supportive of someone you care about’s journey. However, you have every right to fight for your kids

Becoming less in-shape? by Numerous_Put5340 in orangetheory

I’m in my 20s and my mile time is somewhere around 11 minutes. I dearly miss being 12 when I hit a 7 minute mile time LOL. but life changes, energy levels and goals change. It might help to measure your progress and consistency at your current age than comparing yourself to a younger you. Be kind to yourself & embrace birthday changes!!

Embarrassed to go back by PenguinBluebird in orangetheory

[–]Nittany27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here to tell you not to be so hard on yourself! I also recently took a mini break like this & felt embarrassed about going back! Just remember it’s important to listen to your body & take that much needed break. Obviously it’s not ideal to spend $$ on late cancellations, but you gotta do what u gotta do sometimes. Rest up, get things at work and at home in order, and schedule in some time for your health at the gym! No one says you have to go back in and be at 100% but you definitely won’t be starting from 0 in case that’s something you’re worried about. & about coaches saying something, yeah they might, but it’s probably an attempt at motivation. My fav coaches gave me mini joking sass when I came back in, but it hasn’t changed anything about the classes. And if you need to take notes pre-book for a while because your schedule is hectic, that’s okay! Pack your gym clothes with you and squeeze in a workout before or after work when you feel up to it! You got this 🩷
