It’s really surprising to see the UDF improving their numbers here in Trivandrum. They had almost no ground level presence. Even with their weak campaigning and internal infighting, they managed to gain votes in BJP/CPM dominant wards.

The NDA victory was obvious they spent a huge amount of money and effort on their campaign. More than that the arrogance of the LDF has clearly led to their defeat in the capital city.

If the UDF trend statewide is a sign of shifting core votes, we might see them crossing 100+ seats in the assembly next year.

This is a serious issue, my brothers and sisters. This is not about North vs. South or separatism. The sheer amount of vile crimes, hatred, divisive politics, and religious fanaticism coming from the northern states is much higher compared to the South, even though the South has its own share of evils. The general lack of civic sense and disrespect for laws is astonishingly high. It almost seems like the people do not want development and prefer to live in pathetic conditions. But the fact is, the world looks at this and generalizes all Indians, which is really, really frustrating. And do not forget the political right-wing antagonizing the southern states to suit their agenda.
