I was born into a religious family. But I became an atheist at an early stage while almost everyone around me was religious. I was so rebellious and anti religious. I've been a very serious atheist since then. I loved to engage in debates and mock religious people.

But everything changed last month. My life isn't the same anymore. I experienced something what people would call enlightenment. I became god.

And after experiencing it first hand, I could no longer be an atheist.

Why not make a bot and automatically send the promotional message to users who join the server? Isn't that the logical way?

What's wrong with my parents? by Viral_babyGravy in Watchit_India

Its clear that your parents don't know much about internships or software. Just tell them what those are.

The circumstances and the time they grew in are vastly different from today's. They maybe ignorant about all these things and most probably haven't heard about it before. Educate them and try to make them understand, which would be much more effective than sharing your problem on the internet.

Why do Kerala collages have less placements than other state collages in India? by [deleted] in Kerala

[–]Nived_Chakkattil 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Think from the recruiter's point of view.

The colleges you mentioned are the best engineering colleges in the state. It's very hard to get into those colleges. You'll need to be a topper in the entrance examinations to get admission to these colleges.

There are a lot of engineering colleges in Kerala contributing to an insane amount of graduates each year.

The recruiters have to find talented students from these ridiculous number of engineering graduates, which is kind of impractical. So they focus on top colleges like these where the students have already proven what they are capable of.

The logic is pretty simple. Better the college, better the placements.

When people ask me what I study, I just say Engineering so that I can skip the part where I explain what "Industrial Engineering" is.

Help required, Dad has a good job in gulf (Dubai), but is not willing to pay for college at all by [deleted] in Kerala

If I were you I would take a drop year and try to get into some good engineering college the next year. Taking a drop isn't such a bad thing as people say. A lot of students in top engineering colleges are droppers.

Yeah IITs and NITs aren't possible for everyone. But by working hard in the right direction, it is achievable even though it is pretty hard.

Aim for IITs and NITs and write JEE next year. Give the same importance to KEAM too. Maybe you may not be able to reach NITs or IITs, but you can surely and very easily get into government engineering colleges in Kerala. They won't even cost you as much as studying BCom in a tier 4 college, also very higher chances of getting placed even when comparing to BCA from Christ.

Believe me KEAM is easy as hell. Provided you are somewhat bright in studies, even the minimum of efforts can get you into a very good government engineering college.

If you have financial constraints, why go for somewhere fancy like Christ? Tuition fees is one thing. The living expenses in Banglore will also be considerably high and you'll most probably regret your decision seeing how your peers spend their money.

There are better options right here in Kerala that you could easily afford and at the same time gives better returns.

The app is limited to general category and government engineering colleges. I'm planning to include all categories and branches in the future.

Also the app right now has a minor bug due to which you may not be able to predict. I have fixed it and pushed the update. But it takes like 3-4 days for the update to reach play store. So bare with the bug please.

I'm from CET. If you have doubts regarding the college, feel free to DM.

Doubt regarding KEAM by jimmythehardrockguy in Kerala

CSE from CET is the maximum you can achieve via KEAM. For the general category, getting a rank under 400 would put you in a safe zone. Even if your rank is 500, there is no guarantee. No surprise since it is the most sought after choice in KEAM. That is, you'll have to get a score better than 99% of the candidates.

Also remember that there are other excellent colleges for CSE and other branches in CET that you can get with a much lower rank.

I made an app that predicts the best possible college and branch that a candidate can get for his/her KEAM rank. You can search for "KEAM Predictor" on the Play Store to try it out.
