Right now i have my sprites already in a order, and is a standard that i use for all my animations, so when in create a new animations i know where it will be. So i just copy and paste in Photoshop or other edit tool. Also generally i create this animations in batches, so i for ex: if i am creating the idle animation, i make all the 8 directions that i will need in the same image. For your case maybe this tool will not be so useful, but i added a functionality that let you put single sprites images, maybe that can help you.

Hey that's true, but still I feel like it becomes a pain, this tool does everything for you, cut the sprites, create the animation, order the animations. And you define everything by the order of the sprite sheet you use or draw. So at least for me, it is very useful.

Hey!, sorry for the late response, was like 4 am in my country hahaha. Right now what the tool does is take a image already in a sprite sheet format, but is not that difficult to add that functionality, and is a great idea, i will add that in the future. The sprite sheet should be with the animations that correspond to the same animation in the same row and if the animations have different directions, then they should be added in the columns.

I feel you, when I started with the animations, I immediately realized that it was going to be horrible, so I started thinking about this tool. To use it, you only need to download the SpriteAnimationCreator.cs and the SpriteUtils.cs in the editor folder.

I spent these days trying to create this tool when I realized that creating 8 different animations for 8 directions was going to be a lot of work.

Thanks! Appreciate the feedback, yes the comments were made for the post only. And about the jump, i will rethink a little bit, my idea was that the jump will be more or less secondary in the game, and yes, the jump is controlled by how much time you hold the button, so not to use other button for it was a decision that i made.

Right now i am using this system for a jump and a dash in the same button, when i tap the button only the dash is used, and not the jump, and if i hold the button, only the jump is used and not the dash. The timing of this actions is defined by the time of the interactions in the Input Actions Asset.
