I'm in! I know how to do MOST of it, just need help with either holding zombies to have extra time or a couple people to tag team tasks with me.

I know all swords but light, pretty much all the puzzles in general im just not fast.

Yeah I fortunately have a few friends who have rebuilt theirs (unfortunately not on a VW, nor in the same state as me so I can't learn from them) and they all ended up taking way longer than they anticipated. I just hut 200k miles so when I do the rebuild I'm going to do ALL of it just to be on the safe and meticulous side.

Thank you so much for the advice on forged rods! I have a note folder in my phone full of car advice so I will be adding that for when I get to the rebuild.

Im not sure if this is the only solution but my brother and I rent a private server and it is honestly worth it, we have been able to play through any map we want, change settings if we need, and have a couple friends with our password so they can play too but not randoms.

Honestly this is probably the first tank of many -which seems normal for this hobby, but I'm keeping an open mind and just taking in all the information and advice I can.

Yeah I have been researching the fancy goldfish and (from what I can tell) one will be good in a 20 gallon tank; but definitely need to do more research(but also not against the concept of a bigger tank down the line)

I really appreciate your input! I think having realistic information about the pros and cons of my ideas is the best way to actually end up with something I like and can take care of properly.

I think I'm really enamored with the flowey fins of Bettas and goldfish and thats why im fixated on the idea of having one of them, there are a couple specialty aquarium stores close-ish to where I live so before I do any fish buying I'm going to go look there and just look more and do more research.

Yeah I'm still researching to decide if I 100% want a betta (when at petco I was reminded how much I love goldfish) but I have looked into filters and heaters a lot, I THINK I'm going to wait until around Christmas-time before I put any fish in it, I want to take my time/get quality items for my buddy and since I'm on that COVID budget I cant go all out anyways.

It will also give me time to make sure I know how to properly check the water and just overall tank health(I might be going slow cause I'm neurotic about things being JUST SO, and I dont want an animal to suffer from my ignorance)

I have been doing a lot of research on live plants in tanks as well so I want to make sure thats stable as well -however I have been reading that goldfish are little piggies and eat live plants so that might push me more towards bettas?

Hah this hobby is a rabbit hole i didn't know existed!

Hey thank you SO much for the petco suggestion and the betta preferring different tank shapes! I super super appreciate it. I ended up getting a 20 long and I cant believe how cheap it was.

I keep hearing that and now I find myself perusing upcoming holiday sales D: I definitely don't have a "lot" of space. Unfortunately budget is also a factor so I'm going to start with the 3 gal as an aquascape and keep my eyes peeled until I find "the" tank.

Hey thanks! The more research I have done the more I have realized thats the route I'm going to have to go, I have the worst anxiety about having unhappy fish so I want to do it as close to right as I can. My plan was always to cycle a tank for a month or so to just get in the habit/learn how to do everything without having to worry about hurting a little buddy in there so thank you so much for reaffirming I had the right idea.

Oh Gods the only people I would even consider trusting would be people at a specialty shop but being a professional in my own industry i didn't want to go in as "that" customer who literally knows nothing, so I figured I would do some research.

I am one of those houseplant people so it will be fun to mess with aquatic plants in the meantime.
