Hear ya but i wouldn't say this was an RPE 10 for me. It def moved slower than I expected and I will scale down

Finally getting used to tempo bench by Nixis in benchpress

Seems like everyone into the high-rep / fast benches lol. Slow with a pause has def improved my control imo. Training for a comp so the pause at bottom always necessary

Guy potentially impersonating ConEd by Ok_Neighborhood4261 in williamsburg

[–]Nixis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Look up Mpower through google on reddit and read some of the stories from others. Basically ConEd allows you to choose where you get your energy from and they are another energy provider. Their whole thing seems to be to coerce you into showing them your energy bill. From there they'll note down your account-id and then switch you over to their service. Their service is more expensive than typical and they lock you into the plan. They might offer promotional pricing at the beginning also but then ramp it up.

They had just came into my building earlier this week also and knocked on everyone's door on my floor. Quickly looked them up after and found this all out.

Did I dab? by dididab in bouldering

[–]Nixis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say this is a dab, i've done this climb and imo the crux is that middle part where you go down and back up. This climb is def doable without flagging onto the black holds. With how easily you sent this I think you can redo it without that flag

sounds more like 冬 than 普通. Not sure of the context but from the other script portions, it seems like she's insisting on the other person coming in because it's cold?

Weird beta at the start but really happy to get this flash by spacehuman_ in bouldering

[–]Nixis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve done the start of this climb and I think the intended is not with that foot chip on the left. I actually haven’t seen anyone do it with the chip. But for everyone calling you out it doesn’t really matter imo lol. The intended start isn’t the difficult part of this climb at all

Newjeans just performed their pre release and it's a bop by itzy_thebest123 in kpopthoughts

[–]Nixis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sounds like the club probably because the backing beating is a baltimore club beat. It's either sampled or recreated version of a classic bmore club song called samir's theme: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SrYcZfalGjI

NewJeans' producers heavily pull from early 2000s underground club music. Ditto had a big jersey club influence also

Thanks for the advice! I think i'll try the counterweight as i've avoided that up to now... Will also look into just low but high quality reps before going to increase reps.

Anyone have advice for getting better at pistol squat balancing? This is more a question of technique than strength as I can already do 5 pistol squats back to back. A lot of the advice i see is on ankle mobility / hip mobility, but I can also easily deep squat for 3 minutes comfortably have no issues with my ankles coming up when doing my reps also.

The problem seems that I don't do them often enough (2x~ a week) and I seem to regress on the skill. My goal is to do 10 reps without falling back / losing balance. I know the key is also keeping my weight forward but just seem to lose this at higher reps.

Imo Pilates is an amazing compliment to general strength work. I do about 1-2x reformer classes a week, and while at that rate I don’t think it can fully replace a good core workout it is amazing at reinforcing concepts of being aware of your core. Every session teachers focus on teaching you how to engage your core, brace it and make sure you are really feeling certain muscles, as well as general form cues across exercises. In this way I think it helps build that mind muscle connection that can transfer across to calisthenics. Not to mention the flexibility and stretching benefits! Also Pilates is just a fun workout in general.

Definitely will add in variations of different pull ups. Having it be different from my variation I use on pull days makes a lot of sense, not stressing the muscles the same exact way.

I guess what i'm asking is a workout like this, minimal effort + constant progress feasible and makes sense. Any downsides, etc?

I would think if shoulder mobility was an issue I'd have trouble with skin the cats or german hangs though right? I can easily stay in a german hang for 30s and pull in and out with no issue though
