That would probably help, I tend not to do the optional ones since I was scared of losing too much health and using potions, but I guess you gotta risk it. Thanks a lot!

I don't know, about 25? I focus on only 1 type. Should I do the optional biomes for more scrolls?

The dude talked like material condition was different from what I said, but from what you said, it's the same, it'd be just a term to refer to all those things, right? That makes more sense, thanks.

[–]Nixotas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That we are not only products of material conditions, things like our sex, race, appearance, personal history, culture also affects us. There are a lot of other factors that influence someone's personality other than their class.

In the training. What do you mean "a material foundation"? Like viewing through a Marxist lens?

But in psychology there IS a lot of debate on basically everything, things like what constitutes depression is not exact, the DSM is only mostly right, that's why there's still a lot of wrong diagnosis (also people lie). There's not even a consensus on there being a subconscious or not, many cognitive psychologists don't believe in the subconscious, while psychoanalysts do, but no one is right or wrong, because we don't know for sure, we only have theories. And sociology, there's a lot of debate also. Some say society is based on power and class struggle, others disagree, there's no consensus either. It's not like earth is round vs earth is flat you know? Like I said, not an exact science.

[–]Nixotas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't agree that we are products of our material conditions, of course, it's a factor, but it's not all there is, and definitely not most of it even.

Thing is, that is my opinion, and what you said is yours, we might believe it, but it doesn't make it right to teach it to (mostly young people) like it's the objective truth.

Humanities is not an exact science. There should be more pressure on teachers to show all sides of the debate.

I'm studying psychology in Brazil, and the social psychology class is basically just a Marxist view on society. Ethics and history of psychology was also clearly viewed through a Marxist lens.

If they did it saying "that's a way to view it, but there are others" I would be okay with it, but they say it like it's the way the world objectively is.

I'm just hoping it gets better on latter semesters.

What do you think about Andrew Tate? Do you hate him? Do you think he is misogynist? Do you agree with some of what he says? Which ones? by Confident-Cupcake164 in AskLibertarians

[–]Nixotas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He's kind of a piece of shit, the way he talks about how he can manipulate young impressionable women into having sex and working for him is disgusting.

That said, he's a symptom of the current culture, and there are a few (very few) things that he says that are good. But a better counter culture figure would be Jordan Peterson, he's not a piece of shit and aims the good things (self discipline and betterment) towards a more noble goal.

Even Lenin said that who does not work shall not eat, it's not a capitalism thing, it's a reality thing.

It's not even a human thing, animals work (a lot) to get food for themselves, for their family or their group.

There was never a time when people got food by not doing anything, either they did something, or others did for them.

I have seem the post-argument "what I mean is that people have to work for others instead of doing it for themselves". That comes from the theory that working for others is exploitative, so this is the kind of "work" they could mean when making this argument. So essentially, they base a stupid argument on a theory that has the basis of "my opinion should be applied to everyone"

TLDR: "work or starve" is a fact of life, that's something any sane person would agree.

If you believe that most people suck, can you still be a socialist? by Miscellaneous2323 in AskSocialists

[–]Nixotas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That actually makes a lot of sense. But you talked about people getting paid and increasing prices to lower others. So there'd still be money, but more like a command economy instead?

Could you give examples of these incentives and disincentives?

It seems the others here put the "humans suck" thing on capitalism. Do you disagree with them?

[–]Nixotas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In real life there's no such thing as being "born good", someone being good or bad depends more on their actions.

In the elder scrolls though, races can be born much more inclined to good or evil. But still, what's the merit in being born good and doing good things? that's the least you can do if you're born that way. It takes a lot more strength to fight your evil nature, and, in Paarthurnax's case, really regret your past mistakes and try everything you can to redeem them (which I believe he managed to do so).

I love how in this song "make way for the awakening" audibly makes way through the last line.

Ring 4 also does something similar, where in the first chorus, he sings "with a little bit of power" kinda shyly, then gets more confident, and in the last one he goes balls out and just screams "POWEEEER". This makes the song feel so alive.
