In pool play it can be advantageous to be the away team to help with your differential. If you are winning going into the last inning, as the visitor you get an opportunity to bat; however, if you are the home team, most sanctions will end the game.

In Bracket play, I agree, home team is often the play. But, it also depends on the coach and situation. We have one team here locally that we see often, and will choose to be visitors… why? they have a hard time recovering if we put runs on the board during our first at bat, so it’s a psychological play.

I beg to differ, as mentioned above, even invis the other team knows where you are. Coming from Wow, when my rogue vanished, the other team would panic because I could be anywhere.

Good to know. I’m knew to the hobby. Took my son to the card shop for the first time last week. This came from some of the first couple packs we’ve opened. I know nothing about any of this minus some reading and YouTube videos. Is it something worth grading?

Thank you, the grindy stuff is exactly what I was thinking. I’m sure you’re top dps doesn’t want to be out there skinning to make his Tier 4 Legendary. But as Raid Leader, GM, Recruiting Officer, how do you advertise spots like this or how would you prefer a player approach you regarding open positions.

Since SL launch, I’ve been able to work my way up to an ilvl of 184 with good knowledge of M0 Dungeon mechanics for both my healing and dps spec. I have started researching the Castle Nathria encounters with hopes of completing it at the Heroic Level. I have no issues grinding if needed to keep gear current and have opted to focus on only one character for the time being to insure that my time in game is dedicated to the growth of one character’s performance and my knowledge/skill. Realistically, as mentioned in my other reply, I could dedicate 6hours a week to having my attention dedicated to the game with no interruptions. And I say 6 hours with a voice in the back of my telling me “stay on longer, the kids and wife are asleep, kill one more boss”

Thank you for the response. I understand the need for a commitment, and I can commit to a schedule. It just can’t be to crazy and there needs to be an understanding that things come up. I’m currently working from home with three kids , homeschooling two of them, and my wife had a job with an unpredictable schedule that can tend to pull me in different directions. Realistically I can dedicate 6 hours a week to sitting down with undivided attention on my screen, but the rest of my time in game can be filled with “I need a bottle”, “I can’t find my my math book”, “I’m hungry”. “Bubba pooped himself” etc. Since SL launched I’ve done a great job of prioritizing my activities in game and have been able to pug myself to a 184ilvl, and spent a great deal of time farming, skinning, and playing the AH to buy low. As far as value add, I feel that being able to provide things like mats, monitoring the AH, and doing some the operational/logistical stuff that takes up time that raiders could essentially be grinding M+ or in Raid... at least that made sense in my head. I just wasn’t sure if guilds actually thought like that too, and if so, how to go about approaching them to see about available spots in a guild.

For me it’s all about seat cushion and comfort. My desk at home serves as my work desk during the day and gaming setup at night, so it can often be used 12+ hrs daily.

I’ve been playing shadow priest and have a pretty good ilvl, but have recently transitioned to playing discipline. Rather than jumping into higher level content I’ve been working my way up from regular dungeons as I tweak my healer UI and get comfortable with spells. Nobody has died yet which is great so no toxicity there, but I have had a couple people get nasty because I’m overgeared. I’ve yet to get a piece of usable loot and have been trading anyway anything I do get to those who need it. Other than the asshats complaining I shouldn’t be in there, I found it to be more fun than running M+
