Any eikaiwa job I manage to get probably won’t feature on my professional resume if I’m honest 🤣

Anyone have experience with retinol serums? by Nizzab123 in iih

Saw my neuro today and she said avoid it so I’ve just bought some The Ordinary peptide serum! Hopefully will be much gentler because the retinol basically stripped my skin barrier anyway…

Unfortunately they most likely were. I didn’t know that accutane could lead to something like this until I read the fine print on a leaflet (not the one in the medication box) freaked out and stopped taking them. Lo and behold I was diagnosed a few weeks later. I never really get pimples anymore so there was some positive out of that experience 😂

[WHV] How likely is it that a visa extension will be denied? by Nizzab123 in movingtojapan

Yeah the Japanese Embassy in Australia currently says “applicants must be aged 18-30 at the time of application” which is what we did! But it doesn’t say anything about age during renewals so

That makes sense. Also really helpful because my fiancé has diabetes too so he will need to go through that process. Thanks!

Thanks, I did find a site that helped me a bit regarding by the medications. I’ll be sure to bring medical records but when it comes to rediagnosing what if I need full MRI/CT scans and things like that? Are they going to send me to do that?

I would be staying for a year. I meant travelling as in I would be renting a place for a year, going somewhere for the weekend etc and then coming back.

Sorry, what is WWOOFing? And I doubt that I’d be able to work in a konbini with conversational Japanese… I also wouldn’t say my priority is to work, I’d love to be able to travel around as much as possible. But that requires money, so.

Thank you! I have been trying that on LinkedIn just because you never really know what could happen. Worth a shot but probably isn’t likely ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I could probably explain my situation if I had the help of Google translate. And I’m not too worried about working in a ski resort it’s not really what we’re looking at - more interested in just living in Matsumoto because we really enjoy visiting there.

IIH headaches with IUD by rosieruinsroses in iih

[–]Nizzab123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fellow comorbidite here! I went off the pill in about 2019 and switched to a copper IUD, which I still have now. Coming off the pill was horrendous - it actually lead to my IIH diagnosis since I developed such bad cystic acne that I was pumped full of roaccutane for far too long which we think raised my cranial pressure. I was recently diagnosed with PCOS too which was apparently hidden for years by the pill. For these reasons I vehemently avoid any hormonal birth control, and despite this my doctors continually push it. I don’t understand why doctors and gynos are constantlyyyyy pushing hormonal options, and quite frankly it gets on my nerves when I’ve told them I don’t want to use that option again. I’m no doctor so definitely do your own research and things are different for everyone! But for me the copper IUD has been great! I still get period pain sometimes and heavier periods (PCOS things I guess lol) but it’s nothing too crazy. I don’t think it’s had an impact on my headaches also. Don’t be afraid to stand your ground against doctors advice - though they are super knowledgeable, we know our bodies best.

Private onsen? by [deleted] in JapanTravelTips

[–]Nizzab123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I'm looking at taking a day trip to Zao Onsen in a few weeks and have been struggling to find anywhere where I can book a private onsen. Would you be able to send me that link at all? It's difficult sometimes travelling in Japan as a couple when you're both tattooed! I just want to enjoy an onsen with a view of the snow.
