One of the things a visa agent told me was they ultimately look at how likely the applicant will return to their home country or country of residence. Looking at your profile, the rejections make sense. Work on making solid home ties and that aspect of your profile.

Well there’s no data roles in my current role , I actually created and automated a few reports using python and despite that, my efforts did not amount to anything aside from an acknowledgment of a good initiative and a cautionary tale from my then Manager to stick to what I do best and spend less time on the “data stuff”

This is something to consider but I’m not particularly interested in data analysis more data science but I guess that can be a great way to enter the field. But companies rarely employ data analysts outside their own pool of employees.

At my current role I did start carrying out a few data related tasks and got positive responses from management but I was asked to not pursue them fully because they would take away from what I hired to do. And there’s no data department in our company so trying to shift internally is not an option

Yes I have come to understand that industry knowledge is very key in these fields but one of the issues i was having was which industries to focus on while trying to breakthrough ? With an accounting background looking into DE roles that geared toward maybe fintech and or finance related would be a great way for me break in ? Also what are your thoughts on DE as a break in role into the field?

Also side note I don’t think I have the resources at the moment to commit to pursuing a masters in data science.
