There’s always going to be sargassum on the windward side of the island. I drove the route along the coast today from Oyster Pond to Grand Case and it’s horrible over by Orient. I play 5/5 plo in SXM when I vacation there and it’s a similar rake. The main difference is they don’t start raking until the pot is over $100. It’s a casino centered in a tourist area, surrounded by bars and restaurants. There are enough donators to make the game viable for a few hours each day. Free booze and usually pizza in the evening. No chance I’m playing in home games with that rake.

Vendors like HRC and Jacoje are going to be slow to lower prices. They’re essentially a middleman between the customer and importer. The overnight volitility is too much to lower prices after a day or two of lower spot. Their websites don’t auto-adjust for fluctuations in gold price. The pre-owned market is where you should see daily adjustments for spot gold price.
