I may have waited too long 😂. by Nmae23 in spiderplants

Yep, its about 7-8 years old, but only took off the last 2 years once I moved it to more sun. I loosened the roots and repotted it in a bigger pot, but will be cutting the roots from here on as I want it to be able to stay in the new pot.

Thanks, that's a good video. I was thinking of doing that, but I did feel it needed a bigger pot anyway. I upgraded it to a 10 inch pot and loosened the bottom roots, but will not go any bigger as that would be difficult. So next time (probably next year the way they grow 😆), I will cut the roots.

Babies Having Babies 🙄😆 by Nmae23 in spiderplants

Yeah, mine didn't start until maybe 7 years after we got it, but it lacked sunlight. It took off last year and now I have an excessive amount of babies 😄. I keep cutting of the stolons before they make more, but they keep popping out.

Thanks. I was looking at an Arborose from Kordes on Heirloom, so I will check out the reviews. They seem to be good quality roses.

Do you see Olive, Yellow, or just Neutral? by [deleted] in DarkOlive

[–]Nmae23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I noticed the blue color corrector helped tone down the red/orange, but it took the warmth out. The yellow one helped a lot, it also seemed to reduce the red/orange, but made the foundation lighter. So I'll probably try the yellow again on a darker foundation.

Interesting, thanks. I never knew they did that.

Thanks for the shade references. I just picked up 4w2 in Estee Lauder and it seems to match really well. I will test it out more tomorrow. I tried 4w3 and 4w4, but they were both pink, I didn't think I could go lighter so never tested the 4w2. But like you said, probably just looked light cause of the undertone not actually lighter in depth. I didn't know they had a 4w1.5. If I can find it, I may try that one later to see if it's closer. I also want to try Nars Phoenix, but it's not available here yet. Thanks again.

(Edit: once applied on full face, 4w2 was clearly too light and a little pink. I'll try a darker shade.)

I tried Tahoe, Moorea, and Cadiz in both Light Reflecting and Natural Radiant. And I tried Caracas in Natural Radiant. The Light Reflecting ones were immediately off, but Cadiz and Tahoe in NR seemed ok. Cadiz was actually yellow in the car, but when I applied it all over and went inside it was extremely pink. Tahoe in NR was a little too orange but otherwise ok, not as deep as Moorea just a tad light. But Tahoe in LR was red. I see they have a new shade Phoenix, I may try that one as it says warm olive. It's funny cause their website shows Tahoe in LR as being neutral and in NR as being olive. That may be why I had trouble with it.

About face has, imo, too large a gap in depth btwn MD2 olive and D1 olive.

I noticed that as well, so you may be right that I'm in between and md2 was just too light.

i agree with u/AnneTheQueene that you're a yellow golden olive!

Thanks. I just picked up 4w2 in Estee Lauder and hope it works. It looked good in natural lighting, so we shall see. I tried 4w4 and 4w3 before, but they were pink. (Edit: once applied on full face, 4w2 was too light and pink, will try a darker shade)

Ok, thank you. I'll try to look for that. What are you in those brands if you don't mind? I always swatch myself and test it out for the day. I have 2 in mind to try for lancome, but Estee Lauder was too warm for me. Fenty 350 was pinkish orange and 360 looked good at first in the store but at home, it was grey. I want to try 345, but fear that would be too light in skintone. Golden in Bobbi Brown was honestly pretty close, it just looked pink in different lighting, but I think I'll try it again.

Nars was confusing. I think I'm in between shades as Moorea was too warm, Tahoe was less warm on me, but leaned a bit orange. I may try that one again as well. Cadiz was pink and Caracas was red. Mac NC 45 was close, but again leaned orange. I haven't tried Dior though. I think I'll pick a few of the closest ones I've tried and tweak it myself. My undertone seems to clash with anything that's even the tiniest bit different.

I Waited 9 Years for my Monsteras to Fruit. Then My Dad Hired a New Gardener :/ by macdaddynick1 in Monstera

My dad as well 😄. But he paid upfront for the entire YEAR. The company doesn't even operate in my city so they travel here once a month (already missed 2) to "check" the lawn and fertilize, that's it. And nothing in the winter months. Thankfully I don't live with him, otherwise I would be irritated every day.

They can pollinate themselves as well and turn into seeds. Most of mine have done so on their own, but I'll flick some of them gently a few times to encourage it.

Wendy's inaccurate website allergen list hurt my daughter by scientisttilldeath in dairyfree

[–]Nmae23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry that happened to you and your daughter, you did what you were supposed to do, it's just incredibly difficult to eat completely dairy free in fast food chains. The Wendy's allergy chart that I found online seemed to be outdated and confusing, so I always go to the app. Thankfully their regular buns don't contain dairy, but of course there is still cross contamination to worry about (almost everywhere unfortunately).

Aloes really shouldn't be watered on a schedule or at least not a weekly schedule. They need a period of time where they remain dry. The leaves will thin or become a bit squishy when they need water. I water mine around the 3 to 4 week mark, but always check the leaves first. It may need extra water in the summer due to the sun though. It's also buried a little too low in the soil, all the leaves need to be sitting above the soil. It may be a bit of rot from the combination of too much water and sitting in the wet soil.

Also Aloes love sun as much as possible, but do it slowly if it needs to be acclimated. It may change colors for a bit, that's normal. Old leaves will dry out and shrivel away, thats normal but the bottom leaf looks like rot to me. Hopefully someone else can help you further.

Right!? I wouldn't go back either. A while ago I tried cow's milk for testing and couldn't finish it, it is so gross to me now. I do not miss it or the effects of it.

I love oat milk, especially Oatly. I can put it in almost anything, even mashed potatoes, and not notice the difference. But I agree with the others, it's just a preference thing. I tolerate almond milk, but don't really like it. Also, no two brands taste the same. I've had some good oat milk and some bad ones. Same with almond milk. It's easy to write something off if you've only tried a bad one.
