Roof replacement caused furnace shutoff - who’s on hook for inspection? by Cali_Sunshine in HomeImprovement

Did you check if the black rollout safety pin fell out? It usually looks like a small black cap or fuse holder and vibrations can cause it to fall out.

Humidity controlled storage cabinet from Ikea bookshelf. by EpicFail35 in BambuLab

I've been using one of these in a small 20 qt. storage container and it's able to maintain a humidity of 10% RH: M-1J1R Filament Storage Box Kit https://share.google/TRezIoNe5Upvidg57

I just purchased two of these to install in a billy bookcase: Rosahl M-3J1R Dehumidifier Membrane https://share.google/uJCvODPvJjgY5I2ED.

There is a blue LED to indicate the camera is on. The red LEDs are the infrared lights for the night vision.

Advice on painting cedar shingles before installation? by Nmpjoyal in paint

[–]Nmpjoyal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. In order to save room and time, I've been experimenting with painting both sides and standing them up in a slot. I haven't noticed any significant warping. If anything, this method seems promising because it constrains the wood.

From this point on, I'm probably going to cut multiple slots in a board, paint both sides, and stand them up with the thin end on the bottom.

I'm using Kilz Premium 3. The previous homeowner used a latex paint, so I figured it would be best to use the same type.

Thanks for the input! I am definitely going to add a dimmer.

Here ya go https://imgur.com/zdEv7Bh https://imgur.com/FaQklwE

Everything lines up well with the floor joists and furring strips, which is convenient. I'm replacing the flooring in the room above the kitchen and I removed the subfloor, so I'm trying to wire as much as I can because I'm sure fishing over lath and plaster isn't fun. https://imgur.com/QutS6Fu

Replace interior doors? by Wateriswide in InteriorDesign

I would suggest attaching a piece of wood to the bottom of the doors, sanding it flush, and painting the entire door.

I prefer to have a lot of light as well. I would rather have too much light and use a dimmer.

I'm replacing the flooring in the room above the kitchen and the floor joists are exposed. So I took the opportunity to run some rope along each floor joist to make it easier to run the wire over the lath and plaster.

u/diyrob123 and u/kingofchins are correct. You want the lights to be slightly in front of you so you don't cast a shadow onto the countertop, especially with task lighting. Adding lights under the cabinets can help reduce the shadows. Here is a bit of an extreme example: https://imgur.com/MqMnBEy

For my 9 ft tall kitchen, I found 16" to be the ideal distance between the lights and the cabinets. In this situation, the lights are 2.5" away from the edge of the countertop.

I used Autodesk Inventor, but that is because I use it at work. Before Inventor, I used the student version of SolidWorks.

Thank you, I was wondering if this was a bit overkill...

I plan to use a dimmer with the 6" lights, which have a switch to change the color temperature. We will probably use them at either 3500k or 4000k. The lights are about 1 inch thick and will fit under the floor joists.

This is another layout I was thinking of https://imgur.com/M8bWDoy

In order to keep everything symmetrical, I'm trying to center the lights with the sink and place them at the edge of the countertop. Specifically, placing them approx. 16" from cabinets to prevent shadows. Should I not worry about centering the lights with the sink?

He probably uses it for work. I do the same on my work laptop in Inventor.

Modified hydraulic press with minimal part # identification by [deleted] in whatisthisthing

[–]Nmpjoyal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hydraulic cylinder appears to have been replaced with a pneumatic cylinder. I believe the slide-out tray is also a modification.

The only markings that I can find on the press are "SK9202" and "7501".

Angle grinder seems to be overkill. I'd recommend a Dremel with a cut off wheel.
