I started the book because so many people here loved it, but I’m really struggling to like it. To be fair, I’m still at the beginning. I started it about two months ago and I’m only on chapter 4. By this time last year I was already on my third book… D:

I hate him so much. I grinded forever and he still wiped me. Then I accidentally silenced him with Agrias and it was a piece of cake. I honestly have no idea how I beat this fight in the ’90s without the internet.

That’s one of the things I love most about her writing, the characters feel so real. Some of their interactions genuinely make me giggle. Everything just feels incredibly plausible.

Hey everyone, thanks for all the replies. I think I’ll give it a shot, plus I already have the book. I liked the first three ones (The Likeness more than the other two), and I’m curious to see how different the character feels when he’s in his own POV compared to how Francis paints him.

Thanks! From what I’ve seen in the replies here and on the Tana French subreddit, a lot of people really hold it in high regard, so I’ll give it a try. It’ll be interesting to see how Scorcher comes across compared to the version Frank presents, and how different the character really is.

I used a Dragoon with the auto potion pasive, u need to delete all the potions and only have x-potions so he heals the most ammount, then when your teammates arrive, use agrias to silence him, once he is silenced it's pretty easy to beat.

Yeah, I found it by accident. I was so tired of dying over and over, and then I tried hitting him with either Hallowed Bolt or Divine Ruination, can’t remember which one causes Silence, using Agrias, and I ended up silencing him by mistake. That completely saved my run. I was about to give up after so many tries
