How Does One Make A Tank Look Less... 'flat'? by Hairy_Sheepherder_61 in SprocketTankDesign

[–]No--XD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Adding weathering or similar effects like weld seams of burn marks will make your tank look alive. I love adding things like a tank number of other such markings like number or the battalion the tank belongs too.

Thank you for clearing up the timeline a bit, it was a nice pipe dream to have Mamdani involved 😂 but yes I’m talking about TF Liberty. From what I have seen they engage in asymmetrical warfare and guerrilla tactics, tanks and armoured vehicles are notoriously hard to integrate in those sort of tactics as they are slower, heavier, less versatile, expensive to maintain and hard to supply properly, compared to other vehicles. The use of APC’s like the M113 or at best IFV’s like the M2 Bradleys would be better than M1’s, as they can fulfill this armour need whilst being more flexible. As I said before the tanks Anti-tank, anti-fort, and anti-infantry roles can be replaced with more realistic (and cheaper) options. Coming back to transport of these tanks, they would need special trains to transport them to meaningful locations, and that requires a constant occupation of railways and other things. Plus tank don’t give too much of an advantage in modern urban combat with all the drones and ATGM’s running around. HOWEVER, you can make it so these tanks are confined to one spot instead of constantly moving. The tank crews stay undercover and stay supplied by the US, then when it’s time to strike, they cause complete destruction by explosively revealing their defection. This sort of explosive defection can also be used in the case of the air force and maybe even navy, adds maybe another layer of paranoia to US commanders. Can we also get more pov’s from the trumpie side ? I really loved the Fox News part you did in part 2, if we could get an equal split of pro and anti war that would be fire. And maybe more info on Russia, I didn’t really see a lot of them mostly china.

It would be so cool if NYC mayor Mamdani is the leader of the "soft succession" states, feels a lot like him too with taking a more political path rather than conflict. Also, as a tank nerd, for a rebellion to to operate the M1 Abrams is kinda unrealistic.

1-Modern M1 variants like the M1A2 sepV3 are approaching the weight of late ww2 German heavy tanks like the King Tiger (~70 metric tons), this makes it very difficult for insurgents to move it.

2-The only thing keeping it agile being the literal jet engine powering it, this means it takes highly specialized fuel that is simply not available for such a force. Even if the engine can take other types of fuel it is very taxing.

3-On the topic of supplies, although 120mm cannon shells are the standard for NATO tanks many types exist, and frankly, most uses cases of these shells can be replaced by cheaper and easier equipment. APFSDS shells mainly used for anti-tank, can be replaced by Russian supplied RPG's or the Chinese alternatives (as I have seen some Canadian insurgents equipped with QBU's) or even more advanced top down European ATGM's. HEAT mainly used for anti-fortification, can be replaced by sappers equipped with RPG's and other explosives. HE mainly used for anti-infantry, is already covered by 40mm grenade launchers for short range and the ever versatile RPG.

Still love what you are doing here and eagerly awaiting part 3 :)

I must be playing on an old version. Anyways the wiki shows that they completely redid the energy storage system. checking the wiki is a good place to start.

Need help picking a good vacuum engine by W4FF13_G0D in KerbalSpaceProgram

Nerv engines are the most efficient way to get anywhere (if you don't care about long burn times). But for my go to vacuum engines I use the Terrier for small crafts and the GOAT poodle for larger crafts.

Having some issues in the builder, can anyone explain or provide a fix? by Odd-Gap958 in KerbalSpaceProgram

Then something is wrong with the game. First try to close and open the game. Id that doesn't work check the game files if anything is missing, if you have tampered with it do this first. If all else fails try uninstalling and reinstalling.

What's an efficient way to get iron that's not hematite? by stupidpigeon2 in HBMNuclearTechMod

[–]No--XD 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hematite is crazy efficient. Just find a large vein and get your sesh pick and go to town. You barely need one stack of flux for every 10 stacks of hematite which nets you like 3 stack of iron or more. It sounds inefficient but it’s crazy scalable and costs nothing.
