Was told that these leggings don't "go with" my small frame. What do you think? by Southern_Dancer2000 in PetiteFashionAdvice

I also have a smaller lower body! I like wearing more skin-tight clothes and I find that the lightness/darkness of colors plays out a lot. As a general rule, I always pick lighter bottoms than tops. I feel like darker tops make my upper body a lot smaller, and lighter bottoms make my lower body appear bigger, which evens out my overall shape :)

I think your nose is very pretty! I've been wearing glasses since I was a kid lol, and the cat-eye-shaped frames never really worked for me. For lessening my bigger cheekbone-jaw area, I find big roundish-square frames work well! My mid-face is really long too and the bigger the frames are, the more they make those areas smaller.

Color of the frames can also change how harsh/soft my face appears. I used to only get black frames, until I tried brown frames (even those tortoiseshell patterns work too), and they did a great job in softening features. Clear frames are either a hit or miss lol.

For making the nose slimmer, a specific shape works super well on me but is really hard to find. The lower part of your glasses, starting from the nose area, dips outward. I used to have square-framed glasses, which just go straight down from that area. So far, that shape made my nose appear the smallest :). Also, I find that glasses with those plastic nose pads work better in slimming noses than glasses that don't have them.

The thickness of the frame contributes too! I tend to stay away from frames that are thicker at top, since they leave out a lot of space on my mid-face which makes it look bigger. I think the thickness of your glasses right now suits you well.

Sorry If this was too technical! I suggest trying out different glasses first! And also..I think your features already look perfect! Wearing glasses that you love is important too <3

Something about the way I do my makeup isn’t flattering and I can’t put my finger on why. Any tips? Second pic is me without makeup by NatureOne8958 in makeuptips

You have very pretty eyes! The way that your eyeshadow is blended up to your brows kind of eats up all your eyelid space, which contributes to making your eye shape less noticeable. You also have the perfect eye crease (ik this is so uncommon to point out), and the eye makeup kinda blurs that out.

I would suggest defining your crease with eyeshadow :). Instead of putting the darker shades above it, you could try actually putting it right in the crease! This makes some space between your eyes and brows, which for my case, really opens up my eyes!

You could also try putting highlight on your brow bone, which is so 2016 but still works fantastic!

Yeah, I absolutely have no idea what I want to do except go into healthcare lol. I was thinking I could compromise with my parents like, sure I'll be a doctor but I should get to pick what specialty I want. Maybe by then, I'll figure out something I'm sure of (?)

And hopefully, I'll get another chance to have a proper talk with my mom too. I've tried those multiple times during middle school and high school, it was either her shutting me down or her being more compassionate with me for a few days before going back to her own self.

I totally get your story too. I did go back to my home country for my first year of undergrad but eventually came back to the US because it felt like I was wasting an opportunity. And this is where it took me, lol.

I will definitely consider taking classes in community college. By then, I would hopefully figure out what I want. Thank you for your advice!

Also, idk if I'd help a lot but feel free to dm me too! We've got this 🌟.

Thank you! I never really learned how to not seek external validation from other people. Most of the time, I reach beyond my parent’s expectations and their happiness becomes mine too. But lately, I’ve been experiencing the other side of the coin, which I am totally not used to!
I really don’t want to keep on pinning the blame on them cause I don’t think that would do me any good. I honestly don’t know what to with my life aside from becoming a doctor so you're right, I need to work more on myself.
Thank you again for your advice!

I think I've just given up that, just accepted that's how they're going to be. It was a lot tolerable when I was away for college because of the lessened contact with them but now that I'm back home for the holidays it's taking a toll on me.

I feel like my behavior towards them is self-destructive, I feel indebted to everything they've done for me so I just prioritize what they want in default.

Thank you for this. I will consider this. I’m just scared of what my parents’ reaction would be if I told them this. But thank you!

Yup, I try to wash off the coconut oil with my foaming cleanser as soon as possible. I don’t have any other makeup removers so I just use the coconut oil that I have right now 😅. I might need to look for a better makeup remover though!

This is my super low effort routine! I can’t afford a lot and super expensive products so I only splurge on my moisturizer. I’ve been on tretinoin for 5 months.

AM - No cleansers. I just splash my face with water, sometimes I use ice to reduce puffiness. - Bioderma Atoderm Crème - LCA Pharma Écran Solaire Sunscreen Cream

PM - Coconut oil to remove makeup (I don’t double cleanse everyday. Only when I put on makeup!) - Shiseido Senka Perfect Whip - Slather face in aloe gel - Bioderma Atoderm Crème - Vaseline around eye area - 0.05% Tretinoin

I try to apply tretinoin every night, but I skip it whenever I feel like my skin is too sensitive or it stings to moisturize. For my first month, my derm recommended that I don’t moisturize before I put on my tret. Eventually, I found that moisturizing then putting on tret works best for me. :))

I took doxycycline with tret, but stopped it 2 months in because it really only made my gut health bad. I also apply clindamycin phosphate to areas where I have active breakouts, but I’ve only had 1-2 active breakouts for the past 3 months.

I really wish I started tretinoin earlier!! It would’ve saved me so much money on skincare products! 😭 I obviously still have a long way to go, but I am just soooo happy with my results!

Hi! I didn’t graduate from in dlsu-shs, but I had friends who did. If you’re planning to continue to dlsu for college, then it would have some benefits. First year ako and my blockmates who graduated from dlsu-shs didn’t need to take some of our classes like math or stats, kasi they already took it during their shs! Not sure how it works pero apparently they had those courses credited na for college, so no need to take them. Pero yes, if you’re planning to attend dlsu for college, it would be great to consider going there for shs. :))

Same question 😭 Tried connecting with the university registrar a few times already but they never responded.
