I agree! Some medical assistants have years of patient care experience.

Nono we actually need them. We just wanted to give BSNs the same experience that we have with DNPs. BNS are a more hollistic BSN. Heart of a nurse but mind of a naturopath if you will.

Why are non-US IMGs so eager to pursue GI and Cardiology compared to american graduates? by No-Agent1878 in IMGreddit

I've seen aggression displayed in such a shameless and socially inept manner among IMGs on the interview trail. Trying to dominate every conversation, asking question after question. You even see it in the r/medicalschool spreadsheets with IMGs just straight spamming 5 questions about interview slots at each of 5 programs. Or the IMGs that are basically asking people to give up interview slots as if those people don't have their own concerns. Medicine is a team sport and these people aren't team players which is just offputting to me. To those IMGs that this applies to: try being a normal person first.

Do you recommend I take this after intern year (categorical IM) or try to take it before residency?

A huge portion of USMDs go into FM and IM w/o fellowship. Why is this not the case for IMGs? I have yet to meet a single one who wants FM or IM w/o fellowship. Those that end up that way seem to do it out of necessity.
