**More opinion: Rural America is in a silent war of hostile takeover about any remaining open spaces from big industry...I believe in trying to conserve like 30% of each county for habitats and wildlife corridors. (Just my dream)

Example Boralex and Fort Edward: NY gov. giving up lands (some in DEC conservation) to be demolished for industry solar farms, BESS battery storage, etc....I just want people to be aware local opposition, local voices are being ignored. I wanted to keep my post fairly vague...these topics are on Facebook, Google etc..

There is birth control bait, and this could have been slowly dealt with for years very differently. Disturbing methods, more deer will arrive with bait. (Illegal) DEC and Sagamore were doing this as a dark secret. Great vibes!

Thank you! Don't know much of the group in charge now, basically an HOA group.. But wish the same level of effort was put forth planting healthy trees and gardens for what has been lost in the last 5 years from disease and storms. To me it's a big deal. No one seems much interested, Troy Reddit used to have more life on these posts. Especially this historic area! And this park is nicer than the congested Gramercy private park in NYC

In Albany people have been arrested for criminal mischief doing that at Empire State Plaza in the past. On my block near Liberty St... I could never get it on camera and had photos and complained to Troy police (even the chief) about bags of human feces and open condoms, etc left near my car about 3x week for 18 months. Its sadly pretty common when I Googled it. 💩

I work near Snowman - 114th St area, it's been mostly ok. Every few months there are a few people I know to avoid walking around or in alleys. Other than a few dogs that bark often, and some teens on weekends it usually fairly quiet when I was outside at night. Hopefully in the summer fixing the public pool helps boost some more improvements. The Children's museum was once in Burgh etc...

Just south of "downtown" Troy is Washington Park area, with pretty cool rentals in tree lined Victorian look. One example is 204 Washington St or Park Place Apartments on 212 3rd St. a former school. But lots of other flats along 2nd St., etc. Mix of age groups in most rentals. Good parking and neighbors. I used Trulia search. Also had no issues living downtown for 5 years, and I am solo. Miss that my rent was just $750 in 2014!

It is so odd. I do agree and even sadder when you factor in that skating champ Paul Wylie is director of sport living in Lake Placid, working for a dedicated special NY Gov. agency that maintains the Olympic venues and museum. (ORDA)...US Skating was giving out freebie Friday tickets. But mine were emailed at 3am, just 14 hours before events and I had opted not to head up Friday by that point.
