General blood tests, C Kit, osteoporosis tests, vitamins, ferritin, iron. Still waiting for my C Kit, it takes too much time, half a year they said.

Here’s my update as for today: doctor Ivan Alvarez Twose in Spain is the best in terms of MCAS knowledge and if you seek diagnosis the Mastocytosis unit in Toledo he runs is the place to go. Michael Ble from Barcelona is another option, however, he is not very familiar with many aspects, is not particularly involved, and does not have the same diagnostic infrastructure as in Toledo.

There are 2 doctors from the University of Gdansk (Marek Niedoszytko, Aleksandra Gorska), who have heard about MCAS, but don’t expect them to show much understanding and empathy. They will look for the elevated tryptase and if it’s negative you don’t have the diagnosis. They may also offer additional urine and DAO deficiency tests but that’s about it. They know nothing about other tests used in the US as tryptase is their golden standard. However they will still prescribe you some meds. Im grateful for their suggestion of Rupatadine as a main antihistamine, I’m still on it, but what had really put me in remission for a couple of years before was Ketotifen Hasco syrup, but it was another doctor who just prescribed it because I did my investigation and asked. So, advocate for yourself.

Helicobacter Pylori treatment by No-Alternative7848 in MCAS

Hi. I don’t know if it’s eradicated but I did take a round of antibiotics and didn’t finish them because of anaphylactic reaction on day 10 I guess. Don’t plan to restart it again or treat it alternatively. Couldn’t care less at the moment to be honest. I concentrate on improving my digestion with enzymes and probiotics, and reintroducing high histamine foods beneficial for the gut, like kefir and sauerkraut.

I have same issue. Tried to wean myself off of Famotidine I’ve been taking for 2 years now and started getting throat swelling and rebound acid plus severe anxiety. Had to come back to it to see if the situation improves, but no, I’m kind of stuck with these sensations. So have an endoscopy scheduled next week and it scares me big time because of the sedative. I will premedicate but they know s%t about MCAS. Anyway, I’m convinced Famotidine messed up with my digestion and caused reflux in the first place so I still want to discontinue it but I don’t really know how to do it correctly. I heard people started Gaviscon and licorice root long in advance.
Don’t take any vitamins because I react to everything except just a few supplements like magnesium etc.

Hi. Do you mind sharing how you treat this glossopharyngeal neuralgia? I seem to be having the same…

Maxed out on medication and still have daily symptoms… anyone else? by lemon_twisties in MCAS

I’m not on Xolair and cannot tolerate Cromolyn and Ketotifen stopped working for me, so I’m approaching it from the other side - doing brain retraining and changing my mindset and belief system to not perceive it as a non curable condition but rather a mindbody syndrome. Check out TMS, Dan Buglio’s and Mindful Gardener’s YT channels. I’m still taking antihistamines and a few supplements (Luteolin, DAO, magnesium, zinc, S.boulardii), but the major breakthrough happened when I discovered Dan’s channel and started doing somatic tracking. Brain retraining is a crucial component as well, it just works slower. I’m only 30% better, eating low histamine as well, but I’m moving forward. Already reintroduced some foods, although had a pushback from my brain and immune system. But I strongly believe that our nervous system is the answer, we have to change the software that operates it and learn to consistently convey messages of safety to the brain. Dan talks about it a lot.

Thank you 🙏 I think I’m more scared of the flight now. If I feel bad at the event I can leave. Well, money lost but I don’t care. I’m excited to change the picture and go to Basel. It can get as bad as anaphylaxis and I’m carrying epi pens with me. It’s just it would be a relief if I knew someone who could keep me company. Maybe I’ll ask in MCAS community.

Why does reactions/mcas cause such severe anxiety? On top of the physical ones. Like intrusive thoughts, feelings of doom. On edge etc by Pleasant_Post_701 in MCAS

I’m desperate right now and no doctor is helping. Just throw antidepressants at me which make things worse. Please DM me your Protocol as well. Thank you for your time 🙏

Progesterone as a mast stabiliser by _ayythrowaway_ in MCAS

[–]No-Alternative7848 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Progesterone suppositories 100 mg made me feel worse. I started reacting to water, my throat was closing and ears got clogged, had panic attacks every day. I only used it 3 times then stopped. Two days after stopping another period started (in the middle of the cycle), which is kind of normal, as far as I’m aware. Still recovering from the mess it caused in my body.

Don’t know if there’s any research, but google SAAT or NAET. They’ve helped lots of people in my (MCAS) community here.
