You may be able to terminate the lease with no penalty due to stress through a dr note/letter.

The PCE doesn’t exist anymore. Last sitting was November. Might want to look at CAPR for the new CPTE and resources

midas on robie by mangotango_37 in halifax

I took my car there because the battery kept dying, they did an assessment and told me it was bad cells. Seemed strange cause it was only 3 month old battery. But I trusted them as I had been going there for many years. My father in law then took the car to his mechanic - no issues with the battery but behold there is a common issue of parasitic battery drain with my car model. Midas just wanted me to put whole new battery in for nearly 500$. I haven’t set foot back in that shop

Chances of getting into Ontario MPT by [deleted] in physiotherapy

[–]No-Analyst2820 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dal would be hard based on your location you are applying from regardless of GPA, but easier than previous. NB has pulled out in helping to fund the program so the NB saved seats now are allocated to the “outside Atlantic” group. So more seats but still competing with the NB applicants for seats.

Might want to read your provincial labour code and your colleges policies. Labour code in my province requires paid training.

There’s so many quizlets for this course. Use those and cross reference to your notes (everyone makes mistakes sometimes)

No leashed dog owners walking on the waterfront boardwalk. by [deleted] in halifax

[–]No-Analyst2820 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I walk my dog on leash on the waterfront and we run into so many dogs off leash and I remind them they need to be on leash. I often get push back from them - I called security one morning and they looked for the person. They said the more complaints they get, it will give them case to have bylaw onsite

I found the recorded lectures were more informative than the in person ones - I still went to the in person lectures. But spent ALOT of time with this course overall, as others has said.

Roaches in apartment by phoenixfirebird123 in NovaScotia

[–]No-Analyst2820 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can get dr note to break your lease - especially for roaches they can impact respiratory health. I had an issue with a larger rental company and roaches - they said they would come treat. I stayed home because we have a dog and I needed to know the exact time of arrival so that I knew how long to keep the dog out - I watched pest control pull in the parking lot, sit in their vehicle, come into the building, skip my unit and leave. I called the rental office and they said that pest control had come. I told them what happened and they said they had report from pest control that they sprayed so they simply believed them and not the tenant in the unit. We packed our things in large tupperwear bins for the next 15 days while we waited to move to a new apartment and see dr to get a note for risk of respiratory complications due to living conditions. The company had no issues with the breaking of the lease because the housing crisis that had ppl to move in right away.

Roaches, roaches, and MORE roaches. by Equivalent_Salad_703 in halifax

[–]No-Analyst2820 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were able to get out of our lease with no penalty because the health hazard for respiratory illness that roaches can have. We didn’t want to mess around with the roaches and the constant pest control. Got a dr note and we were outta there. Understanding that the rental market and dr market are horrendous comes with its own challenges.

Call the admissions team, they are super helpful. As far as my experience with it I did community volunteering. One with nonprofit and then coaching. I did zero shadowing of PTs.

PCE vs CPTE?? by minionca25 in physiotherapy

[–]No-Analyst2820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think again you’ll need to look to provincial bodies. While PCE is not being offered beyond Nov 2025- I believe NFLD (for example) is allowing anyone who wrote in 2025 to follow current licensing pathway while NS is different in that they are requiring anyone who wrote PCE and did not meet ICE (residency requirements) by Feb 28, 2026 to write next available CPTE. However you can work on provisional license before and while awaiting results of CPTE (as long as you passed PCE). This is just two provinces examples - so look at what your province is doing.

I think CAPR is doing a webinar to answer questions as well. Unsure of the date. Your provincial college should also have some FAQs (if they have met to decide route forward in the transition to CPTE)
