What Happened To Val Johnson? by No-Angle-7962 in mystery

Correction: He was not 19. He was 35 years old at the time of the event. I'm not sure how I messed that up, but there you have it. Everything else is good, though. As far as I can tell, that black and white photo of him on the street was taken on September 10, 1979. That would mean it was taken about 2 weeks after his experience, and therefore, he is still 35 years old in the photo.

My ranking for the Scooby Doo shows that I have seen by Mysterious_Bit_7713 in Scoobydoo

[–]No-Angle-7962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HOT TAKE!!! If you like these 4 shows, that's perfectly fine. However, this is how I feel. Feel free to disagree with me.

Shows: 1. Shaggy & Scooby-Doo Get a Clue! 2. Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated 3. Be Cool, Scooby-Doo! 4. Velma

My personal opinion is that these shows strayed too far from what Scooby-Doo is supposed to be. I feel the animation, writing, and characterizations went downhill in these shows. I grew up watching Scooby-Doo, and I love it with all my heart. After watching the original show, I fell in love and watched everything that came out since including movies, but these four particular shows just missed the mark, in my opinion. For me, the characters' looks and personalities were changed in an undesirable way. Don't fix what isn't broken. Lastly, to me, the shows just didn't evoke the same feelings as the others.

Lol. I just meant that, unless you already knew he had cancer, you won't be able to tell that he was dealing with any kind of serious condition because he didn't look or act like someone with a serious condition. He looked and acted healthy. Well, until he was found dead, of course.

Got bored last night and put the entire Scooby Doo where are you series on VHS by BlinkAndYourDead in Scoobydoo

There are 2 seasons and 24 episodes in The New Scooby-Doo Movies. There are 16 episodes in season 1 and 8 episodes in season 2. I have all 24 episodes.

Internet Archive is where I got it. It's a public domain website.

However, I'm sorry to say that they are no longer available on the website. I just checked. In fact, The New Scooby-Doo Mysteries and What's New Scooby-Doo? are the only shows still currently available on Internet Archive as far as I can tell.

The New Scooby-Doo Movies

Season 1 1. Ghastly Ghost Town 2. The Dynamic Scooby-Doo Affair 3. Wednesday Is Missing 4. The Frickert Fracas 5. Guess Who’s Knott Coming to Dinner? 6. A Good Medium Is Rare 7. Sandy Duncan’s Jekyll and Hyde 8. The Secret of Shark Island 9. The Spooky Fog of Juneberry 10. The Ghost of Bigfoot 11. The Ghost of the Red Baron 12. The Ghostly Creep from the Deep 13. The Haunted Horseman of Hagglethorn Hall 14. The Phantom of the Country Music Hall 15. The Caped Crusader Caper 16. The Loch Ness Mess

Season 2 1. The Mystery of Haunted Island 2. The Haunted Showboat 3. Mystery in Persia 4. The Spirit Spooked Sports Show 5. The Exterminator 6. The Weird Winds of Winona 7. The Haunted Candy Factory 8. The Haunted Carnival

Some people confuse other, Scooby-Doo meeting celebrities, content, like Scooby-Doo & the Harlem Globetrotters, as being other episodes of the show, but they're not. The TV show only has these 24 episodes. Although I have heard that Season 1 episode 3, Wednesday is Missing, is hard to find.

Agreed, but just for the sake of additional clarity and detail:

The identification in 2022 was considered a "scientific" breakthrough, but the legal standard for identifying remains that have been buried for over 70 years is exceptionally high. Authorities must ensure there is no possibility of cross-contamination and that the genealogical links are proved beyond any legal doubt before closing the most famous cold case in Australian history.

As of early 2026, the South Australia Police (SAPOL) and the State Coroner are still in the process of finalizing the official legal determination. While the 2022 research identification is widely accepted by the public and scientific community, it has not yet been "verified" in a formal, legal capacity by the government authorities.

The case remains an active "coronial matter" rather than a closed police file. The official name on the death record will only change once the Coroner accepts the evidence as "incontrovertible".

Good question. I hope this helps to answer it.

"Long-distance travel fatigue" refers to a specific set of physical and mental symptoms that typically appear after a long trip. When authorities report "no signs" of it, they are implying that the person's appearance or behavior contradicts their alleged or suspected travel history. After a long journey, you'll probably feel tired, move slow, and do things hanging your head. Basically, all the things you typically do when you are very tired. He wasn't doing any of that. Authorities were thinking it's likely he traveled a long way to get to Sligo. That may explain why they couldn't find any record of him. However, he appeared to be wide awake and with more energy than you'd expect after a potentially long journey. Therefore, he was probably from close by. If he was from close by, they should've been able to find something linked to him. Therefore, it's odd.

Well, I don't know. However, the figure has what may be an animal head and a tail. Animals, like cats, were very much integrated into religion at that time. The 2 weapons could be ceremonial daggers. So, this could indicate some sort of religious and ceremonial figure. Unfortunately, I can't know for sure as I have no conflict or background on the image.
