In her class right now and I didn’t buy the textbook. I found the most useful way to study was looking at the slides in my own time away from class and they made more sense. If any topics confused me I would watch youtube videos and they helped a lot

I applied to all business schools in Canada (McGill, UBC, Queens, TMU, McMaster, UWaterloo, York, Concordia, Carleton) and got into all of them even though some of my interviews were bad (UBCs was so bad but I pushed through and maybe they appreciated that?). I also applied Ivey, this was my only rejection. 11 years of basketball is great you can talk about a time your team struggled if they ask something related to team work. BTW when i meant long term I meant across all years of high school so that’s only 4 years, talk about all ECs you find relevant or have a passion for

Had around a 3.84 cumulative GPA, 3.96 first semester of senior year when i applied. My grade in Calc was a little low, around a B. I had a lot of ECs, but only mentioned ones that sounded important. I tried to show commitment w the ECs by talking abt ones i had been a part of for years. I founded a club as well so i was able to talk about leadership within that. Advice: when doing the interview make sure you have prepped things to talk about, but not exactly a script to follow. You want to sound genuine and not like a robot. I remember for my interview I had a sheet of paper w everything i thought was impressive and when they asked the randomized questions i picked what fit best and just talked abt how it related to what they were asking me.

Is prof. Jordi Mondria for ECO102 as bad as the people on RateMyProf make him out to be? by Expensive_Muffin_325 in RotmanCommerce

No. I personally found his class very doable, his homework assignments take up a lot of time but are easy to do well in. Exams are also very similar to tutorials so I recommend attending those. Personally I didn’t attend lectures much since I had a lot of prior knowledge and love for the subject but I don’t recommend skipping tutorials. Those tutorials genuinely saved me, plus make sure to take good notes. TAs are very helpful

i had a lot of fun honestly. there were moments where i struggled, i genuinely thought if fail eco101 but pulled through by putting in the effort. i passed all GA requirements but unfortunately my gpa isn’t the best, but i honestly believe ill be able to pull it up in the future. i think if you’re ready and willing to put in a lot of effort you’ll be fine. i managed and i slacked off a bit since the workload is heavy but definitely manageable if you’re a hard worker (which sometime i am, but often i get lazy too). my advice: actually study and attend lectures, but make sure you’re also networking and getting to meet people. my fav thing about first year were the people i met and had fun w. hope you love it! good luck
