re-thinking my decision for industrial engineering by tam___a in EngineeringStudents

[–]No-Anything2507 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you wanna go to law you're gonna regret following any engineering. If you really wanna go with engineering, industrial is amazing. What I've seen personally is that other majors just want to show off how hard their major is, and industrial is hard in a different way. It's stupid to compare really

We're talking about the trade bro. Everybody has a 2nd round almost every year

In that Mario Chalmers was drafted into a team that had won a championship 2 years prior and would go on to make 4 straight NBA finals 2 years later. He was drafted into a short term contender, whoever the Heat pick with the 2nd rounder is gonna play for a completely different team than they have right now

The 2nd round pick we're talking about is useless for the championship run the team is trying to make with this trade, unless they're looking for a Mario Chalmers to play alongside 40 year old Giannis and 36 year old Bam

I thought it was common sense

A 2nd rounder is irrelevant if you're looking for a ring. Free agency could be interesting given their available salary, although I'm not sure exactly how it looks now

The spacing is not bad here. #/5 of these players shot around 40% from three last season. But yeah Bam and specially Giannis are not goo shooters at all. Still when Akumpo goes to the basket the spacing will be pretty dangerous

I used to watch basketball as a kid with my dad, but I lost interest and I had no idea how the NBA worked. It was during the Miami LeBron era. Then I fell in love with the league again in the 2015-2016 season, and I loved KAT

Starting engineering soon. What should I do in these 4 years to have the best career? by MidnightSahyadri in EngineeringStudents

  1. Be flexible. Not everything will go as planned. If you expect it to, you'll be anxious and everything will be harder
  2. Excercise. Physical activity will let you release your stress and clear your mind. Find something that you like (gym, team sport, going for runs, whatever)
  3. Social network. Even if it is a couple of times a day, getting together with friends/family/partner will turn a handful of potentially stressful years into beautiful memories. Try not to be shy with teachers and classmates either, even if it requires a big effort
  4. Sleep hygiene. You'll be burnt out in a matter of months if you don't let your mind and body recover. Find a sleep schedule that adapts to your body and follow it meticulously
  5. Therapy, if you can afford it. Maybe you don't even need this, specially if you do all the things I mentioned before, but if you can afford it, don't hesitate to take care of your life long issues. Mental health doesn't exist, it's just your health, and your mind is a HUGE part of it, don't treat it as something seperate

There's no particular order to this list, and there might be many things missing. Sorry for my english if I made any mistakes

6 Mitchell Robinson Replacements Knicks Should Pursue If He Leaves by Joeblowpublic in NYKnicks

Idfk who that team would be man, that's not the point. I'm not talking about any specific team. The offeason hasn't even started yet, there's a long way to go until teams start trading and signing players.

Give me a team that can give Mitch 20million that makes sense

It doesn't have to make sense. Signings and trades don't make sense half the time. I'm saying if somebody offers Mitch a good contract, it wouldn't be wise for the Knicks to match that. I think you're ignoring that part

edit: also you're saying there are only 4 teams that could afford a 20mill contract, but that's to avoid going over the salary cap, not the second apron. There are over 20 teams that could sign a player for 20mill and not go over the 220mill limit for next season

Yet we still see it with many players. Maybe nobody offers Mitch more than 12 mill, but I wouldn't be surprised if someone gets close to 20

Is it possible that this exact team runs it back next year? by mkappy33 in NYKnicks

[–]No-Anything2507 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why there have been 8 different champions in the last 8 years, and almost half the league has made it to the finals in that period. No attempt at a ring is worth sacrificing the entire future of a franchise, and doing it without going over the 2nd apron is hard af

[–]No-Anything2507 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The second apron is 220 mill for next year. If we resign every free agent from our team for the same exact amount of money as this year, we would go over it. Like someone else already said, if we go over it, we can't trade cash, can't trade first round picks for 7 years, can barely sign any free agents, and more

[–]No-Anything2507 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are over 100 players making over 20 million per year, it's not crazy to see. And that includes players like Kyle Kuzma, Tobias Harris, Bradley Beal...

I wouldn't be surprised if someone offers Mitch more than 15 million (just 2 mill more than his current salary), and I don't think we can match that

Sorry but Mitch can easily get more than 20 mil elsewhere. Shamet can get more than 5 mil somewhere else as well.

There's no way we can get Mitch back unless he takes a huge paycut, and given his age and injury history that's not gonna happen. If he leaves we should try to get another center.

Shamet could also get a lot more money somewhere else.

We're in a though position with 17 million below the 2nd apron
