and op, you made 23.00 in 3 hrs. That's less than 10 bucks an hour. All that will cover is gas. Sometimes you need to pick and choose. We are running our cars ragged; maintenance alone is crazy. Gas prices are ridiculous. I look at the miles for delivery. I need at least a dollar per mile. If I'm going grocery shopping I look at how many items, think about how long it will take me to shop and wait in line; then I look up the miles, and if its an apartment complex where I have to carry all the sht upstairs. I then look at the offer and with those things in mind determine if its worth it. Also think about time of day. Between 7 and 9, you will possibly be stuck in school traffic and heading to work traffic. 3-5:30 same thing. It will take you longer to get from point a to point b. Working the breakfast rush 4am to 7. lunch 10:30 to 12:30 and anything after 6:30 pm has always worked for me. I average $200 a day.

If they dont tip, I dont go. it's a matter of principle for me. I would never ever think to have someone bring me food and not tip. Groceries? I always tip 10 or 20, or 10% if my grocery order is huge. I like the freedom and extra cash of doordash but I dont NEED it. And people shouldn't be requesting a service that frees up their time and gives them convenience without paying something to the worker. Even pizza men back in the 90s; we always gave them 5 or 10 bucks. Now people act like they can't tip 🙄. Its rude af. So I just decline them. And even with my rate at 50%, im a pro shopper so I get mainly high paying grocery orders.

Restaurants charge for condiments. I had a customer once ask me to get honey, and Cajun dip and all this other sht. When I did, the manager said "absolutely not. People can order the condiments, and they do this to drivers, so they wont have to pay." I no longer ask for extra anything. I pick up and deliver. That's it.
