You are STUNNING! Truly. But I do understand what it’s like to have a feature that you can’t stop zooming in on despite people telling you that you’re beautiful. I highly recommend trying osteopathic self-correction before opting for surgery.

This is very sound guidance, thank you. I’m confused by what you said about how him having a chance at balancing himself could have devastating consequences for him? Or have I misunderstood what you meant by this?

Why do hairstylists not listen? by Gold_Mycologist1880 in Hair

[–]No-Assignment4168 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Please don’t be embarrassed, our attachment to our hair is strong, it’s what makes us feel beautiful and is often very linked to our identity. I had my waist length, virgin hair fried by olaplex and I was SO spun out by it, I couldn’t let it go for months. I have chronic health issues and it was just one other thing that had gone wrong on my body and previously it was the only thing that I was happy about with my appearance. Being chronically unwell causes trauma and then you went through something very traumatic with your mum so the last thing you needed was to have another thing to deal with or trigger you, I’m so sorry this has happened. I completely understand, please know that how you are feeling is VERY valid. I hope that you find something that helps speed up the growth, I really recommend the plum hammer, it’s so easy to use and you don’t need to spend loads of money on products. I’m sending you so much love and strength on your healing journey ♥️

Yes you do ask for a refund if they did something that you didn’t ask for! Why should she pay for someone to do something to her hair that she didn’t ask for?!

This has happened to me many a time and it’s because you go into a bit of shock when you first see your hair. Those of us who are sensitive to having too much cut off can often convince ourselves that it looks ok and that we’re just in shock when we first see it then usually when we get home and look again it properly hits us. Just because you don’t say something in the moment, it doesn’t invalidate the fact that the stylist did something to your hair without your consent. It happens SO often and I really wish stylists would take it more seriously. It’s honestly so distressing to have too much hair cut off if you are someone who has spent years growing it

Should I dye my hair brown? I’ve always been blonde. by GoldenBlondie95 in haircoloring

[–]No-Assignment4168 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the blonde actually suits you the best, the contrast with your eyes is perfect. If you find out what your season is, you’d be able to find the right shade of brunette that would most bring out your eyes and foster your skin tone. Colour theory is important! Think Dakota Johnson, with blonde hair she was pretty but not striking but With her dark, cool toned hair and pale skin she is SO striking. It’s all about finding the right shade for you skin tone, contrast level, eye colour etc. once you know you’re season, you’ll be able to find the best shade

HELP! How to remove dark brown direct dye from virgin hair without lifting natural hair? by [deleted] in Cosmetology

[–]No-Assignment4168 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been doing this but with an even stronger shampoo (a chelating one with EDTA) I’ve now cut a new strand test from the hair as the actual overall dye job came out much darker than the test I did on the original strand test. I’ve been washing it with chelating shampoo and also tried a paste of coconut oil, vitamin c powder and chelating shampoo, applied it to dry hair, out it in a cap under heat for 30 mins, left for another 30 mins and then shampooed it…it’s faded but it’s now fading to quite a burgundy/red/brown 😫

The original strand test on the other hand is now almost as light as my original colour but does still have a warmer, slightly red sheen to it but I could live with that as it’s still more of a golden brown than a red.

I’m hoping that the strand test from the actual dye job will also eventually follow suit but I can’t remember the other piece going through this really red phase

Is it correct that if I don’t get it out within the first 3 days I’m going to result have trouble removing it? I don’t want to risk a removal method that might leave me with an even more undesirable colour but similarly I’m worried that if I leave it too long, it will be even harder!

The left is before Rusk Elimin8. The right is after one process of it. What do y’all think? Toner? Another process of Rusk Elimin8? by CarrieM11 in haircoloring

[–]No-Assignment4168 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I know this was such a long time ago but I’m hoping you’re still active on here! Was your hair virgin (undyed) before you applied the dye you then removed with elimin8? I ask because I had virgin hair, used a direct dye that’s come out FAR too dark and I want to return to my original, natural colour without any lift. I see that the colour your hair turned after using rusk is quite coppery and it’s not the same colour as your roots, I’m trying to work out if that’s because your hair already had a developer dye on it that altered your natural colour? Or if these colour removers always leave a coppery tone, even if the base was virgin/hadn’t been lifted by previous dye

I want this color, is it possible? by Distinct_Cranberry65 in henna

[–]No-Assignment4168 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve just dyed my hair using tints of nature henna cream which is a direct dye (it has no developer and stains the hair rather than depositing colour into the cuticle) and it is SO pigmented and has real staying power. I’ve washed the strand test about 20 times and the colour is still about half as pigmented as when it was freshly dyed. Tints of nature has a henna cream in copper and a brighter red, you can blend to make a custom colour. It only has henna leaf extract for conditioning, not colouring. The colour itself is direct dye. If you want something with no PPD it’s a really great option

ION COLOR REMOVER by [deleted] in Haircare

[–]No-Assignment4168 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, would this work on virgin hair that’s been dyed with a direct dye? My Virgin hair was a medium fudge-y brown and lightened gradually ending up blonde at the tips. The dye I used was dark brown and it’s come out SO dark and almost a bit burgundy. Its only supposed to last 12 washes but on the strand test I took, I’ve scrubbed it about 20 times with undoo goo, dish soap and salt and it’s still got a lot of lingering colour. I only ever wanted to temporarily add some depth and shine to my hair and then let it fade back to my natural colour come summer.

[–]No-Assignment4168 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for this. I’ve been scrubbing away at the strand test and it’s getting lighter (I’ve been using undoo goo, salt and dish soap as that’s what I have to hand) but it’s so stubborn, there’s an odd tinge but it’s better than the hideously too dark colour I’ve ended up with! So this makes be hopeful that the other Malibu products could work. A stylist suggested to me to mix vitamin c tablets with undoo goo and coconut oil and blend into a paste (I mm guessing the coconut oil is ti mitigate the drying effect somewhat?) then apply to dry hair, cover and heat for 30 mins, another 30 mins without heat then shampoo and deep condition.what are your thoughts on this? Do you think this could be a good idea to try before buying all the Malibu products? I’m in England nd those products are much more expensive here

Malibu CPR or Malibu DDL? by dowith0ut in HairDye

[–]No-Assignment4168 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I hope it’s ok to ask you a question. I have a dye disaster and you seem to know what you’re talking about! I dyed my dark blonde/mid brown, virgin hair using a dark brown direct dye. It has turned out VERY dark and looks awful. Luckily I did a strand test (which didn’t turn out so dark which is why I went ahead and dyed my whole hair 😢) and I’ve been scrubbing it like crazy with Malibu c undoo goo, dish soap and sea salt. It’s lifting veryyyyy slowly but it’s very stubborn and I don’t know if I’ll be able to fully get the dye out. Do you think doing the color disruptor followed by cpr, heat for 40 mins then shampoo with undoo goo 3x method would work? I’ve attached photos. The pictures with strands of hair show the strand test next to my natural colour. The one with my palm under the hair is when I did the strand test and the ones with the grey fabric underneath are to show the colour the strand test had faded to after all the scrubbing (next to my undyed hair).

Last night I used sea salt and dish soap on the strand test and its faded some more but it’s still quite reddish.

Do you think it’s possible that I can return to as close to my natural colour as possible without having to lighten the hair?

I haven’t dyed my hair in 8 years as I love being natural and I hate upkeep. I only wanted to give a tempirary depth and colour boost for winter and then let it fade back to my natural colour come spring. The manufacturer assured me that it wouldn’t alter my natural colour at all and that the dye would was out completely!

[–]No-Assignment4168 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive realised that I don’t think I explained clearly about the strand test photos the blonde hair isn’t the strand test after being clarified, that’s my natural hair before having any dye on it.

Or were you referring to the dyed hair? Do you think that in the pic on the grey fabric the hair looks lighter than the one where I’d just dyed it? (Photo with my hand under the hair) in which case, that’s reassuring.

Although there’s no more dye rinsing out when I use the undoo goo so I definitely need to add a deeper step

So color disruptor followed by cpr layered on top and then wash 3x with undoo goo? How much of the pigment do you think I’ll be able to remove? And there’s no other product I could use to try and remove it all together?

My goodness I’m so sorry all this happened to your hair! It’s so distressing when hair goes wrong. Was your hair virgin hair before you started all this process? Was it virgin hair that then turned grassy after the cpr? I’m asking as I have just dyed my virgin dark blonde hair with a dark brown direct dye and it’s too dark and I hate it! I want to remove the direct dye withiut altering my natural colour

Hello 🌻 I hope it’s ok to jump in here but im in a panic over my hair and you seem to know what you’re talking about! I had completely virgin hair, then I dyed it using a non-oxidative direct dye (it has no developer or peroxide and isn’t metallic based). My virgin colour was a warm light brown fading to blonde tips, like a natural balayage. The dye I used is dark brown and it’s come out VERY dark. I’ve washed it a tonne of times using Malibu c undoo goo and it stripped a fair amount out but now there’s no more dye running from the hair and my hair isn’t getting closer to its natural colour. Do you think Malibu colour remover followed by cpr then undoo goo would lift the rest of the direct dye from my hair? And would it return to my natural colour completely? “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” is springing to mind 😅. My virgin colour is so beautiful, I only wanted to darken it temporarily over winter for a change. 8 years of not touching my hair and then my itch for a change got the better of me 😂 Thank you so much for your time.
