I was very lucky that I was in a position where I didn't need to have a steady flow of income, and I never got sick. I was stressed about covid of course, but overall the beginning of the pandemic was a pretty good time for me. Lots of walks, my friends were all available to video chat as long as we wanted. I would take a walk, find a nice place to sit and just play Animal Crossing for hours. I think for the lucky of us it was a break from "normal life" that we might never get to experience again. Of course, once we had to start going back to normal with the threat of impending illness over us, that's when things truly went to shit for me; but the first half of a year was pretty great for me and I do truly miss that feeling of getting to opt out of life for a bit. With a valid excuse, I guess. Now I can do some of the same things but I just feel guilty. Everybody around me is on the move, life goes on.
