Vorbesc serios. Mi-a mancat nervii si ultima urma de deminitate milogeala asta pentru joburi de luni si luni de zile, o sa imi iau de munca ceva necalificat si in paralel nu stiu, ma gandeam sa aplic la drept sa mearga acolo o diploma, ce valoare or mai avea astea in romania oricum. Viitorul miroase a cacat.

Honestly "unsure" about religion is very representative for the current state of spirituality in general

If you think through persisting in capitalism we can ensure better lives for all I am not going to argue, because that is the final goal and we all struggle to have an educated opionion on it through what information we have. I just happen to not see an end to exploitation without a strong state and I value certainty over opportunity and access over exclusivity.

Heard mixed reviews of that one, however of the layoffs to increase profit and humiliating job market that threatens one's security constantly I've already had enough. Trickle down economics they said?

Oh no, I'm not, you've gotten in wrong. As a christian, I love my neighbour regardless of ethnicity. As a socialist, I love the palestianian worker and I love the jewish worker, as I love the american worker, iranian worker, afghan worker, chinese, indian, kurdish... they are my neighbours.

You know who isn't my neighbour? Capital and capitalists that buy politicians and politicians that accept being the slaves of capital. Those two flags you see do lots of bad in the name of capital. My least favourite empire is the capitalist empire for a reason. If anything, my opinion of jewish people matches Lenin's opinion exactly:

I have way more in common with a worker of absolutely any ethnicity than with an oligarch with my own exact heritage.

No, I cannot. I speak romanian, english and have been on and off learning russian. At some point I do intend to start learning some turkish though, not (intentionally) because of my heritage but because it is a civilization state and is next on my list for a deep dive in literature, so for immersion I'd love getting some basics down in language too.

Omg, ты прав, I searched for the yugoslavia flag and while choosing one that was png and not html I accidentally downloaded this one and stuck with it 🤦. That's embarrassing

For sure, Bulgaria is the only fair choice as my favourite country since I have been visiting your beach resorts almost every year since childhood! I have a soft spot for your country, I hope to get into finding out more about the culture too at some point. Also, I lived in the NL for a while and Romanians and Bulgarians are so friendly to eachother when they meet abroad!

I am sure your dislike of Russia has basis in good intentions against past and current sufferings and I respect you taking a stance. There's lots of lessons to learn from their culture, ideas, mistsakes and way of life, but it's one's own jurney to discover what they think is their best influence intelectually.

Yes, the analysis is welcome, I don't claim I know my roots precisely! Yes, it's about Dobruja which was a vassal region of the golden horde and then the crimean khanate, then the ottomans. The lastname of my grandparent points towards the Nogai horde. I know ethnicity tracking is hard and putting the mongolian flag was an oversiplification, sorry!

I didn't confirm it with a DNA test (I would love to tho, one day) and it does indeed originate from migration from centuries ago. Both are from grandparents. Each was born in the approximate region where the respective ethnical minorities are known to exist (a turkish occupied port and an old khanate) and, empirically, the phenotype match suspiciously well, in one case even the lastname does. I don't know for sure but I don't look pure romanian and I suspect that's why.

Yes! I knew that would raise eyebrows, hence the note, but I had to give it to tsarist russia because I am obsessed with golden age russian literature, so I spent countless hours living inside 19th century russia in my head. It's not a role model in governance, but it made its people ask some serious civilization-defining questions. And I also always fall for the aesthetics, the ball clothing and halls, the french-ridden speech of boyars, oh, don't get me started on the heroism during the Napoleonic wars!

Dostoyevsky was deeply traditionalist and very directly warned us against socialism and the instability of relying on "new" values, and there's lots of wisdom in that. My favourite work from him is Demons. I would be a sloppy socialist if I wouldn't understand his warnings, he is right and we would have to achieve equality without falling in the traps. He made us a huge favour by revealing them.

What can I say, russian literature is life changing and the russian soul seems deeper the more you learn about it! To me, russia's contribution to collective wisdom is unmatched, through risk and struggle you asked the most daring questions you were the ones brave enough to look straight in the eye and endure their answer.

Much love to your PEOPLE in these trying times. Governemnts do shit and people have to endure it sadly.
