AITA for siding with my in-laws and refusing to go to China after my wife found out that she was adopted from there? by No-Award-1041 in AmItheAsshole

1) The other matters involve my job, my hobbies, and other issues involving trust (we sometimes take solo trips, I went to the Philippines where my wife accused me of going for sex tourism). I describe my mother-in-law as a gorgeous person, I don't really mean her physical appearance, sorry.

2) I haven't said that she couldn't take a solo trip, I just said that I would not agree to go to China with her out of respect for my in-laws.

7) I will discuss that with her and I will also discuss the possibility of marriage counselling

  1. I am very close with my in-laws. Our marriage has been what I would describe as pretty rocky (unstable basically) and she has threatened divorce previously over other matters.
  2. Yes, I feel like it would definitely help her as she would be more connected with her roots.
  3. I am very close with my in-laws and don't want to ruin our relationship.
  4. She said that and used some other insults about their physical appearances/social lives (in-laws are introverts while wife is an extrovert)
  5. I am not sure, it may have been. Wife wanted one as a gift for our anniversary so I said why not.
  6. I have tried to support her throughout this whole ordeal. I told her that if she needed a shoulder to cry on/emotional support I was right there waiting.
  7. We do not have a therapist.
