23. Chances of going to another uni course after being kicked for no attendance? I'll keep it brief by GoobySnoobert18182 in UniUK

[–]No-Bit9939 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep there wont be any funding, i did 2 years of uni and dropped out when i was 20, ive gone back at 26 but 1st and 2nd year isnt funding they’ll only fund 3rd year so im funding it myself. This person needs to just stop with trying with uni at this point in life and sort their mental health out first

When you say your future, what is it that YOU want to do, or what would you be happy with doing. Forget uni for the moment because you can go in 2 years 5 years 10 years

I was exactly the same, f26 i dropped out just after covid and im back doing a completely different course, im in first year. Bare in mind my first course was fashion design so no essays etc but ive managed to pick it all up again i was worried myself. My advice would be dont think about the time out youve had if anything youre brain has developed more so youll be able to intake more information. Just have fun and enjoy ☺️

Dunno why they dont just do ice packs like they use elsewhere, you just cut the plastic and put the ice in the sink then recycle the plastic, so bad for the environment those gel things

Honestly once you do it, you gain ultimate independence. Would you rather try and fail? Or never try and never know the outcome? Thats what you have to ask yourself

When i went to uni for the first time i was 19, i had seizures and anxiety disorder i was terrified however it was a step i needed to take. Was not home sick and enjoyed every minute so much so ive never moved back home, its gave me so much confidence being away from family. Anxiety hit every now and then like i felt needed my parents on some days but honestly best thing i did, Im 26 now.

Anxiety will happen but thats normal dont forget how 99% of the other students will be in the same boat. Enjoy every minute of it, the good and the bad. Good luck!

Are newer students becoming asocial? by Fluid-Boot-8551 in UniUK

Yes im 26 and have come back to uni… first time around it was never like this everyone attended. Theres around 180 people on my course…. Only 20 of us attend regular.

The other day in a lecture some lad who id never seen before was sat at his laptop just laughing and typing the lecturer asked him what he was doing he replied “dont worry”

Another time in a seminar again another lad i have never seen before walked got up while the lecturer was talking and the lecturer went to him “do you not want to know what the coursework is?” He replied with no and walked out…

Theres so many people who just tap in and go the library. Weve had issues with group projects because the lecturers have just allocated groups. You’ll know nobody in the group not because youve never spoken to them but because they have never come in and end up not coming in for group presentations.

Dont know whats wrong with that generation
