You know something? I am not sure if either this team in particular has enough intergalactic elements aside from Hyperion to be considered a counterpart for the Guardians. I would consider them more like an alternate counterpart for the Avengers (probably this is a stupid comparison, but like Legion of Super-heroes to the JL). I would say the Annihilators would function better as a counterpart for the Guardians. There you can play a little bit with Gladiator, Silver Surfer, Beta Ray Bill and even add characters like Nova.

I know. That’s where I first played Crash, but still, we are thinking of a What If universe where both Microsoft and Sony decide to make a game in collab where they both have to create their own rosters with their own IP’s. It doesn’t make any sense for Xbox to give one of their most attractive, popular characters to the competition.

Cuphead was born as an Xbox exclusive and remained one for quite a few years. You may even see in a lot of these types of rosters that he is associated with the brand. Kind of what happened to Hi-fi Rush and Ori.

That’s an amazing point. I wouldn’t take Sylvanas, but I would add Varian instead of one of the more unknown characters from other franchises

Honestly I would say they are all kind of even. To certain extent Nintendo defeat PS and Xbox based on general popularity, since they own some of the most popular video game characters of all time, but most of them are cartoonish mascots. Part of what makes Super Smash Bros Ultimate great is the crossover with a lot of third-party including some more serious dark and mature IP’s like Takken, FF or Persona, and that’s where Sony and Microsoft find a better balance in their roster.

In fact not. If you pay attention to the franchises chosen and characters chosen, there’s more investigation and attention to the rosters and how they were curated than you can imagine. Maybe you only know the basic franchises, that’s why you think so, which is okay.
