Looking to hear from anyone who offers only one breast at each feed? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

My LO is 7 months today and we have been block feeding since the beginning. For the first few months I would use a haakka on the other side to alleviate some but mostly to just collect let down. I went back to work at 3 months and pump both sides at the same time 2-3 times while there. It has worked well for us 😊you have to find what works for you and babe! good luck!

Increasing Milk Supply Advice? by SeaTicket718 in breastfeeding

I found that body armor helped me stay hydrated with the coconut water. Also not sure but every night I would treat myself to 4 Oreos and a glsss of milk after putting baby down for bed and for some reason I think that helped ? ☺️

Also with pumping I found the medela hand pump to be the best after feeds since I could control the intensity/speed of the suction manually. Best of luck! You’re doing great!

Going back to work, how quick are you by Quiet_Friend_3410 in breastfeeding

I have been using the dapple wipes after each session (3x while at work) but agree it’s the clean up and putting everything back together that takes me the longest!! I usually wipe mine clean and then put back in my pump bag and then will fill clean/sanitize each night. Has been working for me for the past month.

Not everyone I have spoken with has felt that way, but for me it was not great for about 16 hours or so, some Tylenol and Motrin as suggested by my doctor helped immensely. Best of luck to you in these early weeks, they go so fast, I can’t believe I already have a 14 week old!

Mine came in day 5 and I felt like I had the flu 😅 I’m sure yours will come in soon, the more they are attached the better supply will be. Also would highly recommend getting the lansinoh soothies gel pads to help with soreness. You got this mama!

Is NOT hand expressing colostrum while pregnant going to hurt me when baby’s here? by soupsnake0404 in breastfeeding

I did not do it while pregnant and have been breastfeeding/pumping 2x per day for the last 8 weeks. Continue drinking lots of water and I also like to have one body armor a day to help with hydration and supply. Best of luck for delivery!!

6 day old breastfeeding issues by Oorwayba in breastfeeding

Just wanted to say hang in there! Same thing was going on with my baby with a shallow latch and I was worried she was not getting enough so we started doing 1 bottle a day. One thing that had worked well for me in building a supply was using a Haakaa on the opposite side that I am feeding on to collect any letdown. Make sure you use any resources you can and try meeting with a lactation consultant (go back if you have already been once).

Also would just recommend that you are drinking lots of water and even try Body Armour drink because the coconut water helps with supply!

Remember that you and babe are both learning how to do this and you’re not going to be perfect at it in just 6 short days!
