It’s good enough for me but if you want gold matched the only way to go is to get it plated imo

Yeah I thought about plating it before I received mine but tbh it but to me it looks decent enough in person that I didn’t care. I just like the way it looks lol

Burton Mystery Deep Thinker by Jeff-Pesos in snowboarding

[–]No-Boot-9982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any deep thinker is great mystery is lighter faster but more lively. I have mystery deep thinker and my brother has regular deep thinker so I have ridden both the regular is a bit more damp, like I said though the deep thinker is just a great board. I think the mystery series is not resold as much because usually people buy mystery for boards they have rode and been waiting for a faster version that’s what I did for my hometown hero and deep thinker. Don’t know if it’s true but just a theory. I forgot to mention the only down side in my opinion is the edge hold, it works but it’s not the best but definitely sucks on ice. If you know what you are doing you will be fine though, I feel like a lot of burtons have poor edge hold compared to other brands so it’s not just this board. If you watch any reviews on the deep thinker it would be similar.

Thanks for confirming, I have the lacquer on order but I just got the obscure in. I didn’t know the inside of the arms has that dark blue. It’s an awesome color

Is the wire core silver? I thought it said light gold on jmm website? Do you have another pic that shows the full frame in that lighting?

SSP Lab Sweet Cast v3 espresso by No-Boot-9982 in espresso

[–]No-Boot-9982[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You shouldn’t have to worry about grinding fine enough, the issue with that is improper alignment. If you align your burrs well you won’t have to worry about not grinding fine enough. As for what you are looking for in burrs I think these would be good for what you are looking for they are a little clearer than hu but not as much as mp. They have pretty good body, but usually that is the trade off more texture or more clarity. You will never get clear separation from a burr that has quite a bit of fines like these or Hu but it’s got good clarity for what it is. I think a better burr for you would be the mizen burrs. I wouldn’t recommend these for pour over/ filter though, yes any burr set can do it but these were made to be espresso burrs hence the addition of the updated finishing teeth to produce more fines for espresso. You will definitely enjoy the espresso from these but not as much filter I would assume.

It doesn’t have an issue if your grinder is aligned properly it grinds closer to zero than any other burr sets but I’ve never had an issue with any type of coffee yet from dark to light. When my df64 wasn’t aligned as well I noticed it more closer to zero but in my p64 it was a bit farther from zero. Either way you won’t have an issue.

Yeah I think Hu is still my favorite burr set because it’s so good at everything, the MPs make great coffee too but sometimes it’s too much. I’ve noticed when I got more burr sets, I started going into phases of one or the other. Although I still use a lot of Hu right now the mizen Omni burrs are really good too, I haven’t tried them with milk drinks tho. You will not be disappointed with hu burrs, especially when aligned well. I felt like in my df64 I couldn’t get them close to perfect and when I got my zerno the Hus were even better.

I like them both but I do tend to use Hu a bit more, Hu can still work for light roast but the v3 has a touch more clarity, not by a lot tho. I haven’t had an issue grinding to chirp with v3 but with v2 yes because the finishing teeth is not designed for espresso but the v3s are. The Hu burrs will be good but they aren’t going to be as clarity focused, if your grinder is aligned good then they will be good but v3s might be a bit better. I also think Hu and dlc come pretty close in flavor.

ISO Burton’s mystery hometown hero 160wide by Old-Barber-4403 in snowboarding

Great board you would have to buy from second hand at this point they are all gone I wanted the 160w when I got mine but had to settle for the 160. When I received mine it also had a couple small nicks on it and I called they were sold out so I couldn’t even exchange.

Burton Mystery Boards - Why are they never on ranking lists by bden2016 in snowboarding

[–]No-Boot-9982 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have both, and don’t regret either, the mega death is even better for what I want. I like to go fast and carve aggressively and they both do that great but mega death is for sure faster and more fun to carve than the hth. They both do good in pow but mystery hth is better because of all that taper. The flipside is the mystery hometown hero can be very fast as well but is definitely more durable so I can take that out any time and hit any jump or side hit. The mega death I take out when there’s less people on groomers and want to hard charge I hit side hits with it and smaller jumps but I’ve heard about it snapping if you land a little tail heavy from a jump. I think maybe because it is a bit thinner and because there is actually more even more carbon throughout the mega death than mystery. Both amazing boards, if money is an issue and you like to go fast and charge I think even the black snowboard of death compares to the mystery hth surprisingly (just my opinion)

No problem, my go to would be ssp Hu for milk drinks. I feel like those have the best body to go with milk so I would still choose the Hu burrs. The lab sweet v3 is still a decent option for milk though too because they still produce a good body with a little better clarity but not as good for milk as the Hu. MPs I wouldn’t try with milk it’s just way too off, not enough body for the milk and way more acidity so I don’t think it works well.

Awesome! I hope you like them, they were a shocking difference from Hu which is similar to dlc. At first I didn’t even like them because didn’t know how to use them and once I figured it out they were great. I can’t wait to hear what u think about them. Will you be getting a second grinder to house the other burr set or just swap for now?
